So I booked my upcoming Disney cruise around August of this past year. We just got our travel documents and the stateroom class is a category 07a with a navigators verandah. I was under the impression that all rooms had the plexiglass balconies for the deluxe verandah rooms. This is our second cruise and I am so disappointed. Does anyone have photos of stateroom 6636,38, or 40 and the balcony view?

I'm so sad!!

7's on the Magic and Wonder have Navigator's Verandah. What category did you book? Once I book the first thing I do is look where it is on the ship.

We were in a Navigator's Verandah but on the Wonder so the opening is larger. My mom liked it as it gave us a bit more cover if the wind/rain started. We also had a larger verandah as we were at the back of the ship.

We are a category 7. I told the travel agent what I wanted and saw verandah and thought it was a plexiglass one. I feel like I was completely mislead. I should have checked but this is my first time booking a vacation. I guess I'm wondering what the views are like in the navigators verandah.

You could look into changing your cabin category to one with a plexi glas veranda (category 5). Even if it is already past your pay in full date, Disney will let you change categories, especially if you book something that is more expensive. Also, when you change categories, you will still pay the price that was in place in August, when you booked the cruise originally, not the current pricing. You can check the price history of the different categories on www.cruisefish.net. Hope this helps!!

Sorry to hear your travel agent didn't educate you properly. As mentioned above, you can upgrade to a different room. Also, when you get to the port, you can ask about upgrades. If there are any available, they usually cost less than upgrading before boarding.

We had a navigators verandah on the Magic a few weeks ago and honestly really loved it and would probably request it again. We liked it because in February it can get fairly windy and the enclosure shielded it some. If you like the open breeze feeling, it may not be for you. My brother had an open verandah and liked ours better.

I found on the Magic last year when we had a plexiglass veranda that we really couldn't see through it anyway. The plastic was sort of cloudy - maybe from the salt spray? I don't know. Anyway, for our next trip on the Magic, I have booked a navigator's veranda. The difference just wasn't that significant for us to justify the price. But if you think it's going to be an issue, see if you can upgrade.

Category 7 is the Navigator verandah. Your TA should of explained the difference in a 7 to other verandah categories. but, that said, I would love to stay in a NV cabin. I think they look cozy and love the opening.

Another option to ask your TA to see if the below cabins are available. They are priced at 7a NV cabins but they have the plexi verandahs and have only a very slight obstruction in one upper corner that does not impede viewing at all. They are affectionately called "Secret Verandah" cabins here on the Dis. We have stayed in them several times and are great.

Stateroom numbers are:
6134
6634
7120
7620

We love the "Secret Verandah" rooms and have stayed in almost all of them on the Magic. Only issue could be that they sleep 3, not 4.
