Okay,
Most of you know I'm having surgery this Wednesday to remove the tumor.
Hallelujah!:woohoo: :dance3:
Get that sucker out and prevent it from spreading anymore.

But I'm also really scared about it.
I've had surgery before, but this one will be longer than the other 3.
And I just don't like needles and dealing with pain.
And I certainly don't like having to spend a whole week in an icky hospital.

So,what surgeries have you had before?
Where you under Local or General Anesthesia?
Local - Still Slightly Awake/Can remember some of the operation.
General - Completely Knocked Out/Can't remember a thing.
I'll post mine later.

one i can remember right now is having 10 teeth pulled out. I know i was under General Anesthesia so i don't remember any of the pain luckily. Though strange thing was i remember having a dream of feeling dizzy and people telling me to go to sleep and then that's exactly what happened when they gave me the anesthetic down to the single word...

I wish you good luck with this surgery and hope everything goes alright :)

I got my tonsils out, and they had to put me to sleep.

Good Luck Sonya :thumbsup2

First of all Sonya getting that tumor out of your leg has to be a big relief. I cannot image all you have gone through. I know you can handle this and I am going to be thinking of you all day Wednesday during your surgery. I also know there are a lot of others that will be joing me in that here as well. And we will all be waiting for you with big open arms when you come back on here CANCER FREE and with a big group hug.:grouphug:

The only serious or kinda serious well not serious compared to what you are going through was getting my menicus tear repaired in my right knee. I was put under completely for that. I stayed over night in the hospital one night which was one night too many. It was to meet with the Physical Therapy team that ws going to work with me on an out patient basis.

Sonya remember we are all thinking about you.

Laura:hug:

Thanks guys!
I've had 3 surgeries so far.

1st) They were taking my adenoids out. I don't remember much but seeing bright lights, rolling over onto another table, and then I just passed out. When I woke up I had to pee badly, but only cause they pumped 4 backs of fluids into me. That's alot! I got to snack on ice cream for the next week so it was worth it. :cutie:

2nd) Biopsy on the tumor. I got my IV in my wrist, and then I was rolled back into a little room. They put the mask on me,and all I said was "That stuff is stinkk-". I couldn't even finish my sentence before passing out. I woke up and my legs were all stiff and ick. They had me on pain killers for the next 2 weeks. But I guess that's reasonable. After all, they stuck a needle in me right down to the bone.

3rd) Getting the port in. I didn't know I was going in for surgery so I was freaked. I got some anesthesia, and was crying as they rolled me into the OR.
For this surgery they decided to give me Local anesthesia.OH Great. So I'm half concious and all I hear the doctor say is "Make one incision here, and another here" Isn't that just great. I felt them put the port in my chest, and I felt the blood trickle down my back.Yep,that wasn't a good surgery.

Hopefully this one goes alot better.

Yep got it from a ballet injury.

We could be twins though. :)

I know exactly how you feel. Well maybe not exactly, but i Have had a serious surgery before.

I have a heart problem. Sometimes, a nerve on my heart would trigger a tacacardia, which means my heart beats hard and fast. and i mean REALLY fast.

So I had an "ablation", to change it. I got up at 6 AM and my grandpa, grandma, mom, and dad rode me to the hospital. I was so nervous that I could puke. We pulled up at the hospital. we rode up to the floor, and waited in a waiting room until they called me back, and me and mom and dad walked back, I changed into a night gown, and I sat comtorably in a bed. Then i had to have an I.V. Fun huh? Well my nurse was SO nice, and I was playing an I-spy book. they stuck the needle in me, and I bit my lip, and I did fine. Then, I had to say goodbye to Mom and Dad. There was a 1 percent chance I could have died, so can you imagine all the tears? I was fed some medicine that was so cold, I could feel it going down my vein. Then, I suddenly got soooo tired. So I laid back, and they wheeled me into a room, and I rolled onto a surgery bed. I remember hazy things, and then I passed out. I woke up in a curtain room, with my throat burning like CRAZY, and tight wrapped bandages (like gauze, not like little band-aids) around my upper thighs wrapped about 6 times around. I suddenly wanted my mom, THEN!! :) Anywho, a nurse came in and said, "good you are awake!" so my Mom came. She bragged to me about how good the pizza was downstairs, and I was sooo starving. I tried to eat a popsicle, but threw it up. Then the worst part of all, they took off my bandages. It felt like someone was ripping off my skin. I screamed so loudly, as loudly as I could. I felt like I was going to die. And I didn't care that's how much it hurt.

After hours of pain and horribleness (is that a word?) I went home.

You can do it! Be strong! If you need to talk to me, PM me, God put me on this earth to help people. I have a shoulder to cry on!

I got my tonsils out, adenoids out, and tubes in my ears. I was totally under, and they had trouble waking me up from it.

I got 87ish stitches, and they put me under local, but there was enough medicine in me to knock me loopy.

I got my apendix taken out. I have Before/After pictures from the anestesia. The before is like of me touching my nose with my tongue because of the gas LOL and the after is of me sitting there. The only thing I remember is waking up eating a purple popcicle and asking over and over "When did I ask for this?" :)

Good luck Sonya <3  You'll be better in no time at all! See how strong you are :)

Where is your tumor?
You poor poor poor poor poor poor girl

Get it out and make sure it never comes back!
AND IF IT DOES IT WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME FIRST... XD

Im sure you will be super fine

Keep smiling and get it over with!

YOU CAN DO IT!!

Mousie

Good Luck! :D

I got my tonsils taken out.
I was completely out 5 minutes after I was given medicine. I didn't wake up till a couple hours after surgery. I didn't remember anything.

Good luck with your surgery. I'm sure that everything will go absolutely fine.

I had to have surgery when I broke my leg. I was under general anesthesia, but they gave it to me through my nose. It was basically laughing gas that put me to sleep. But I could remember everything they said to me right up until I went to sleep. I remember the doctor's last words were, "Now you're going to start smelling something a little different." XD

Yikes a boy who ive known since kindergaten recently had a heart transplant last April to be exact and it was so scary since we never knew when he was going to have it. I remember a year beforehand he had the surgery and at the time he was on the list and all of sudden at school he had to leave right away and everyone thinking that he is going to have the heart transplant today and he didnt. This year when he had it everyone was so excited for him since he had been waiting for like 2 years. He is fine now and all but he was always making tv and there are still billboards out there about him and he has his own website and all and we still keep track of it and check in w/ him everyonce in a while. Have you ever thought about having a careerpage where you can keep in touch w/ every one and give updates thats what alot of people do w/ health conditens here is the website www.carepages.com

good luck with your surgery! your really strong, so i know youll be just fine... after a few weeks, im sure youll be up and stronger than ever... the only "surgery" i had was when i got stung by a gigantic hornet... than swam in the ocean.. and it got infected... really badly.. so the doctor had to cut my arm and squeeze out all of the venom..... i didnt get any anestetics... i was wide awake.. and yes.. it was one of the most painful things i ever went through
