Frazier's Do WDW On A Budget- Pre-trip!!!

This is my 1st trip report!!!!!

Characters:

Weekend before we leave 8/2 + 8/3.

My big kids left for the weekend and DBF is in Philly working this weekend leaving me my youngest driving me crazy!!! Thanks Guys

I get up Saturday and start repacking and organizing the kids suitcase and do the last t-shirts and window clings but... NO MORE INK .So I cleaned the house up and was off to wash my car, do a walmart return and buy ink. That took 2 hours (to long). Did my returns at walmart and my last task of getting ink for my printer was the headache. I could not find off brand ink anywhere Finally after 6 stores and too mush gas, I paid $30 for the name brand and went home. Now tired and hot, I take a shower and WANT to relax and take a nap BUT DD5 had other plans. So I had my much need Sweet Tea from McDonald's (which is MY energy drink) and kept moving. I finished the laundry, got out all the meals for the week and defrosted the meats and seasoned them. Printed the last 4 images to iron the last 4 shirts, when I noticed I was missing a shirt for DD15 . So I did the window clings and vacuum the house and finally at 1 a.m, I went to bed.

Sunday Morning

I get up and straighten the basement, my room amd DD5's room. Start all the meats and put on the rice and do the baked Macaroni. Then I wash and braid DD's hair and put her in the tub. At about 2p.m, I'm ready for a nap when my big kids call and tell me to pick them. Fine, I get them and fly to the store where I found my last $1.99 shirts and there was 1 left and in her size . It had not tag so the lady gave it to me for $1.50 .

I get home finish dinner,eat and start decorating my shirts. So needed glow in the dark painting and a few needed rhinestones. Finally I'm off the bed. This is my last week at this job and I am trying to be awake to love up my kids

Monday- Wednesday was work everyday and tasks in the evening. Finished up packing and braided DD15's hair, getting my hair cut. Then Wednesday night my Dsis decides to start food shopping at 10p.m so I got home at midnight. I was beat.
Thursday
Suppose to be my relax day because I want to leave at Midnight. i get up and finish the last of the packing and 8A.M I am off to get my DSis for the last of her shopping (we usually do 3 stores) and drop My DS and DD5 at daycamp to go to Dorney Park. We get all her shopping done and I need to take her to her ultrasound appointment at 11a.m. I get there with her and her DH, drop them off and head off to do errands again. I get the water camera from office max that I found looking for ink last weekend, on clearance for $5 each. Then off to the dollar store for sandwich bags, deodarant, dish soap and a spray bottle. Lastly I run in the supermarket for a money order for my rent. Tasks done and she calls. Grab her, take her home and oh yeah ship my last ebay boxes off and pick on up and turn in my stop mail slip. I want to be home by 1p.m to get some sleep. Finally I'm ready to sleep and then the loud lovely noise of the lawn mowers ring out . Ok I deal with that about 15 minutes until they leave and then off to laa laa land. I wake up at 3 and decided to get everything in one spot and call my little DSis who is suppose to keep my furry baby's (cats) but no answer. Finally it is 5:30 and my kids are back from Dorney park. I grab them, take DS to get his hair cut and all the while I can't get in contact with Dsis to take cats .

The HECTIC BEGINS...
IT'S 9P.M DO YOU KNOW WHERE DBF IS????
IT'S 10P.M DO YOU KNOW WHERE DSis IS OR WHERE WILL THE CATS GO???
WILL WE REALLY PULL OUT AT MIDNIGHT???

ALL THESE QUESTIONS I WILL ANSWER IN THE NEXT INSTALLMENT AS WELL AS OUT CHALLENGING 20+ HOUR DRIVE

Great start, I can't wait to read more. Whew, a 20-hour drive you're a better woman than me, I can bearly tolerate our 7 1/2 hour drive.

I am looking at a 20 hour car ride too Labor Day weekend. I won't be at WDW, but I'll be in Florida.

Ok Sorry this took so long, it has been an unpleasant experience while I was here so I am still dealing with it mentally and emotionally. Detail about this will be brief but mentioned in this report.

Ok I get in the house and order pizza and a chicken stromboli for dinner. Try to contact DBF (who in the last 2 months has been really distant from me. He lives in the next state, about 45 minutes from me. We are usually together ever weekend and days he's not in school but lately he's a no show and many excuses why he isn't showing up at my house. His phone is always acting up and that's why he doesn't answer my calls or text messages. After all 2 years I keep trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but I'm starting to see a side of him I didn't know. I told him that whatever he did in the past, he needs to correct and get his life on a clean track. That's why he started school. I'm a very forgiving person so I am still with him and decided to take him with us on our trip) I can not get in contact with him. He had a viewing to go to from 6-8p.m (which he told me the day before was in the morning and he'd be here by noon but this morning told me if was 6-8). Finally at 10p.m after calling DSis about cats and DBF about his arrival time, I decide to take the cats and drive to DSis house since her neighbor is sometimes there and also has a key. She already had the cat litter and food so we had the cats and the litter pan. Knock on the door and the neighbor opens . Thank goodness, cats dropped off then DRF calls says he's on his way (although I won't get my hopes to high, I've been hearing that statement a few months now ). I stop at my other DSis house to pick up my Dneice and DBF calls me saying he's still on his way. I listen closely and can hear a t.v in his backround so I ask and he tells me it's the car radio ). It is almost 11p.m now and I am pulling in and wanting to lay down a minute but knowing the stuff I left for DBF to do, I'm going to have to do because he won't show up . I open the door up and to my surprise he is sitting in front of my t.v. Actually the top lock was on and he is the only one who locks that so I knew he was there. I take a quick shower and lay down at 11:25 for a 30 minute power lap but the disney excitement wouldn't let my eye lids close so I just laid there to relax. Then DSis walks in and asks me about the cats and I tell her they are already at her house. I finally get up and wake up my little DD to take a shower (she fell asleep after pizza so I left her sleep so I can get things done.

Time to pack the car WARNING I AM AN OVERPACKER .
4 kids with 1 in her car seat made a pretty snug fit. This takes about an hour so we are in the car by 1:15a.m. I drop the left over pizza and stromboli around the corner at DSis house and are ready to go EXCEPT my sunglasses, shoes and window clings are still in the house . DBF runs in to get it and we are officially on our way at 1:30a.m. I drive until about 3:30 when I finally could not keep my eyes open so I pull over to a rest stop. I turn the car off and try to get comfy for a quick power nap. The noise from the truck whistles was keeping me up so I turned the car on to have the radio drown out the sound....FINALLY I AM DOSING OFF!!!!

WILL THE REST OF OUR DRIVE BE SMOOTH OR HIT BUMPS LIKE OUR LAST DAY ???

Ok It is now time to catch a quick nap. I wake up the 1st time and move around to get comfortable and go back to sleep. The next time I wake up it is to a clicking sound AND THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH BOARD FLICKERING!!!!! NNNNOOOO THE BATTERY DIED!!!!. I JUMP UP AND TURN THE KEY AND TRY TO START THE CAR AGAIN TO A STUTTER OF COURSE. Ok it 6a.m almost and we are somewhere in VA. Finally I see a guy that works there while arguing with Progressive while I am half asleep still. The lady is telling me I haven't had insurance since 2006 and I telling her that isn't possible. The nice gentlemen that works there seen me with my hood up and since DBF was in the bathroom, I threw on my damsel in distress look and he called VA Road Side Assistance and told me it would be for free. I woke up to that statement and realized the lady was still on the phone, WHICH WAS NOW AT ONE BAR . I looked at my insurance card and figured out my mistake then said "this is progressive right? Oh I'm sorry I switched to Geico" . Now we are off to find a Walmart. I know there is one right before we enter NC and I get off and go into it. I find one reasonable battery jumper and get to the counter and we are told we can't buy it because it is on recall . Ok we keep it moving to the next rest stop and everyone gets out and goes in to brush their teeth and wash their face. I organize the car, pull out the DVD player and make everyone a sandwich and a snack. Load up and we are back on the road. After about and hour or so they are all asleep again.

We stop a few time for potty breaks but continue on. We were at Georgia at about 3p.m. and I decide to cancel my ressies at LaQuita Inn and keep driving since I was wide awake. Well of course right after that I got tired and WE GOT CAUGHT IN NUMEROUS RAIN STORMS WITH OUR LUGGAGE ON TOP!!! (Yes I even had the top over packed ). We stopped and got a trash bag and tried to cover the suitcase in 1 storm. Then during the 2nd storm we pulled over under a gas station and noticed the bag was gone and just tried to avoid the rain . Finally we were in Florida and the kids have the severe "ARE WE THERE YETS?" AND THE "HOW MUCH LONGERS". At close to 10 p.m. we are on 192, thank godness. We were trying to plan a slow sight seeing trip so that we can arrive on Saturday but that didn't happen. So I only purchased 13 nights starting on Saturday through Expedia so I knew I would have to pay the going rate when I pulled up.

WHERE WILL WE STAY???
WILL I BE DISAPPOINTED AT TRYING THIS NEW HOTEL???
WILL MY CLOTHES BE RUINED???
AFTER BEING WITHOUT REAL SLEEP FOR OVER 24 HOURS, WILL I GET MY EYES CLOSED BEFORE MIDNIGHT????

OMG, I am exhausted after reading your first few installments. I hope your trip home is a lot better. I guess I'll have to keep reading to find out.

I honestly don't think I could do the drive from Delaware to WDW. When we first started going my DH would say, "why don't we just drive". But every year I kept finding $49 or $59 flights on Southwest. Finally he stopped asking.

BTW - I work at St. Francis in Wilmington!
