Today was always going to be difficult as apart from Val, there was no real interest to go to Animal Kingdom, so getting the boys out of bed was going to be a task for the marines.

Val and I were up and ready by 9.15, I had managed coffee, cigarette and Daily mail crossword and yes shower as well [this is still not good enough apparently, I should have been earlier and quicker] As per normal Glenn stirred first and started moaning straight away, where do we remove his batteries, but then Mr Happy Morning [Scott] was up and getting showered and dressed even slower than normal, at this point they both stated they wanted breakfast, obviously Val is getting annoyed and quite upset as this is one of her favourite parks, and she would like to get there and the boys were really being selfish.

I will sort this out, [I am being asked to add “for once”] Val goes to the car to wait while I talk to Laurel and Hardy [Scott and Glenn], I just said to them stop being selfish or words to that effect, they both needed me to drive them somewhere today, for them to do something they wanted too, so I held all the cards. They were down at the car within five minutes, quiet but at least in the car lol.

Drove to AK and arrived within10 minutes well into their parking lot, after entering the park after the bag check, I know this can be annoying and I realise sometimes they do not even look but at least they bother offer some level of security, and anyone brave enough to try and get into Val’s bag without written permission from the FBI is ok with me [while you are in there see if she has any money lol]

After entering the park, I could guarantee the first attraction my family want to ride, yes that’s right a spinning ride yes P.Whirl, but I have a cunning plan, first I divert the attention with the bug show, straight into a show with no queue well three of us anyway, Glenn wanted to stay outside, the show is good apart from Val screaming. When the show finished [2-1 vote in favour of collecting him as opposed to leaving him there for a couple of hours], we collected Glenn and to my horror everyone starts walking towards PW, now I will ride it but for some reason these rides always make me feel ill.

Also apart from motion sickness I have to endure riding it with the Addams family, who will now torture me, I will now explain how it works. We all queue up together in a very quiet refined manner but the nearer we get to boarding the ride Val starts to laugh, no reason apart from looking at me and laughing, then we get the boys started “dad is a wimp and is scared of a baby’s ride” ok now it is time to get onto the ride, now it makes the ride even funnier for the boys to try and whack me with the restraining bar and to ensure I am wedged onto the side. Now off we go and Val is laughing as the ride progresses this become hysterical laughter [I know it is close to Halloween but I have a witch with us], now she is screaming. Now you may have gathered I am tormented by my family but I do not help myself because I said as we are waiting to get off “it is ok but there is no need to spin it out of control like that”, this will haunt me for the entire stay at WDW it is repeated on the hour every hour, and it is always followed by an insult aimed at me!! As we get off Val has laughed so much she is now crying, the poor girl unloading us looked really worried as Val’s eyes are filled with tears, her face is bright red and she has to use her asthma inhaler, but guess what, they ride it another five times as there is no queue, may I add without me, actually I did it once more and they tortured me again so I just sat outside looking at normal families riding it!!

After this fun time, Glenn has a go on one of the carnival attractions / stalls and actually wins [water shoot] twice just what we need two fluffy toys!! We then did Dinosaur well three of us, great ride notice they are not so mouthy on this; this is an underrated attraction in my opinion. Then just as we expect to eat, we walk past a last call for Tarzan, now this is Val’s favourite show at WDW so as you can imagine we go and see it. Now I must admit on this holiday this show grew on me eventually by the end of the vacation I was sitting at the front, well the ladies were cute! After the show we went towards the safari to get FP’s but the queue was showing as twenty minutes, now this is the strangest thing the standby queue turned out to be walk on but the FP side was queued back at least twenty or thirty minutes and people were not transferring over, if that was me and saw the standby was empty I would have swapped. We enjoyed the safari, although the little red story does grind on me. I tried to take a picture of a giraffe but by the time the shutter on my camera decided to take the picture the Giraffe had moved and I ended up with a picture of a tree, which as you can imagine was mentioned a few times. It was time to leave AK now and although the boys would never admit it they really enjoyed it, on the way out we tried to eat at the RFC but it was an hour’s wait, so we decided to pass.

The plan now was to drive to the Old Navy store on International Drive so Scott could get a belt and return mine, although I am embarrassed to say my trousers were being held up by my stomach and there was no danger of them being loose!! I first discovered Old Navy when I was working in Rochester NY during 2002 and I am a big fan, yes they do have a lot of stuff that is tat but there is some really good value items, the denim shorts I had on were only $12 I got them in Rochester in July and they were still as good as new. Val is also a big fan, apart from Scott’s belt we got socks, boxers, Chino shorts, t-shirts for all of us etc, Scott got three hoody’s and some athletic jackets [track suit tops], the bill came to $110, only £60 wow

After leaving Old Navy everyone was having withdrawal symptoms as I would not go to Belz, but time for shopping tomorrow lol. We drove to crossroads mall and ate at TGI’s, ok this is my choice as it is my favourite chain of restaurants, when I work in the USA I tend to try and go there as much as possible which always amuses my work colleagues and I know the menu off by heart [sad], but it is really nice to be able to eat there with my family. During the meal the boys kept going on about the weather situation with the hurricane that was on the way [the name escapes me], as if by magic, it then chucked it down, the boys had watched the weather channel and Scott was winding Glenn up. After another great meal and another helping of a steak with Jack Daniel sauce lol we brave the rain, it has virtually stopped now and so we go back to the ASMo.

I sat around the pool and had a drink, while Val got Glenn ready to meet our friends as they were taking him to Disney Quest [it is not included on our passes] and it would be good company for their son, we just got him a ticket with a small AP discount, it would be a waste for the three of us as we are not interested.

That evening after Glenn went to Disneyquest, the three of us went to the Boardwalk and just chilled out, we checked out all the hotels and ESPN and just popped into Epcot to see illuminations, we managed to get the boat over which is so cool. Afterwards we went to find beaches and cream, but as usual we always have difficulty finding it, Val has always wanted to have an ice cream there, she found it Scott and I got lost, we ended up waiting for Val outside the hotel as there was a wedding reception going on, compared to the people walking past us Scott and I looked like a real mess in our theme park wear while all these smart people were around us lol.

When we located Val, I promised her we would return to B+C before the end of our holiday as all Scott and I wanted to do was go back to the ASMo.

We got back about 11pm, just in time to meet Glenn, he had really enjoyed DQ and our friends said he was an angel [do you want him tomorrow].

I managed to sneak in a beer while everyone talked, the bar staff now pour it and give me a Bud before I even order it which is brilliant [even get a Hi Sweetie from the lady behind the bar!], this is ok as long as I am not trying to order another drink as the beer is always poured before I get the chance to order!! I sat with our friends and had a chat, they had me in fits of laughter as they told me how there dad nearly got punched at Epcot, apparently they were queuing for some autographs and when they got near the front the lady in front of them then ushered loads of children in and they took over 15 minutes when she was finished , the characters had to leave which really annoyed my friend and he accidentally trod on this woman’s foot, unfortunately her husband was at least 6ft 5ins and 300 pounds appeared out of nowhere lol and after both the woman and guy had finished shouting verbal abuse apparently very vulgar with it, the guy decided he want to punch my friend who is 5ft 8ins and 150 pounds, his kids were telling me they were so scared, in the end some guys stopped him and it all finished. They were laughing about it now but understandably were very scared at the time, of course my input was, Val reckoned I would have either hid behind her or thrown myself into the lake nice to know she thinks so highly of me lol

We got back into the room at 11.45, as soon as Glenn collected his nightly bucket of ice for his small cup of coke, and we had the usual argument of what should be on the TV, look it is midnight no TV, so instead they argued about who was on the their side of the bed, eventually they went to sleep, peace at last, to be honest they do not make that much noise when it is late but I always feel guilty in case you can hear them in the next room as everyone is due that simple courtesy when it is midnight, Val always tells me I worry too much lol

Your reports certainly aren't boring I really enjoy the humour in them.

Thanks

I agree with Cazzie, not boring at all, was amazed at the epcot story though - some people are so rude!

Enjoyed your report. I agree with you about Dinosaur, it is underrated - it's my favourite ride in the whole of the World!!
