I know there have been many threads on this board about whether or not we will see FP plus in DLR. But, I just have to say, after booking FP+ for the first time... I really, really hope it is not implemented anytime soon at DLR. What a nightmare that system is. I'm actually dreading our WDW visit. I think the standby lines are going to be insane.

Anyhoo, I just had to come over here to the DLR board (my happy place) to say I'm so glad it's not here yet. I know it's probably coming, but it's not yet and I plan to enjoy the old system as often as I can till it's gone. I can't wait for our annual summer trip to Cali!!!

Tom Staggs gave an interview in December where he said MyMagic+ is coming to other parks. He said it won't be a carbon copy. This is not an if it comes to DLR, it's a when.

FP+ is only one component of MM+ so it's not at all clear how much of FP+ will make it to DLR.

I personally would not like it. While I have nothing against FP+ in and of itself, one of the best parts of DL is how laid back a trip there can be compared to WDW. We have also been there enough that we don't really need to think out a strategy, we can can go with the flow more there. I don't mind planning ahead for shows and meals, but planning ahead for when we want to ride certain rides seems like it would take away from the current experience.

I know it's a when, not an if... but i hope it takes a good long time to migrate west.

This is us exactly. DLR has always been a relaxed Disney experience for us, where WDW is always full on commando-style touring.

You have to remember, MyMagic + and FP+ are 2 different things. FP+ is just one element of MyMagic+. I liked the Magic Band element just fine, and I think they will bring that to DL. No reason not to. But I just really can't see how FP+ would work in DL. Not that I think it works in DW. Hated it. But it DL, where there park is 70% locals, it would be a disaster. It's just really awful. I can't see myself going back to DW for a long time because of it, and if they ruin DL for me too, I will not be a happy camper.

My thoughts exactly. We are headed to WDW this spring break for what will probably be our last visit. Booking the FP last night and the stress that ensued is just not what I want from my vacations. We will stick with DLR exclusively from here on out... until FP+ shows up.

Let's just have a thread every week or so about something no one can predict either way at this point.

For the record, I'd rather schedule my FPs than have my AP converted to an RFID bracelet. Not getting an FP has never been a deal breaker for me.
