FP + What we know and what we want to know

One one of our trips, we had to make our ADR's for 2 weeks in a row, at 10pm every night for 14 days! :rotfl2:

2 weeks in a row would sure get old really fast. But I would swap my 5 AM appointment time for your 10 PM.

I couldn't believe it this summer when our ADR date hit for our December trip. We were actually on vacation in Colorado..... another time zone earlier. There we were all passed out in our hotel room..... and I had to set my alarm for 3:45 to get up and make ADRs. I hope to never have to do that again!

And you didnt believe they would handle the closing of Test Track for rehab the way they did either. But you were mistaken then.

You have to admit that was crazy the way they did that? For now on Disney better release those closing schedules 60 days in advance so that people don't waste their FP+. There is a clause in the terms that says if WDW closes a ride, they will reassign you a FP+.

As far as logic and observation, I would put my money on what information mousermerf has graciously offered up.

I think I completely deleted question about 20 FP+ quarter on the first page, maybe I should put that back.

Mousermerf sounds more logical and reasoned than a group of people who think they are somehow entitled now to not have to wait in line for more than 15 minutes regardless of the time of year they go.

I bought Mousermerf's book - it was great. Did you read it?

No.. just no! I don't want to hear that! Ever :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry! But i just cant believe they would do that anyway....everyone should have the same access to it for the length of their trip.

:( 10PM wasn't too bad, just annoying to make sure someone was home every night to the fortnight to make the reservations. If it was 5am, I'd pay someone else to do them!

I hadn't even thought about that. What a MESS that would be to go through that TT nonsense again under this proposed system. You get up at the crack of dawn and schedule Test Track, only to find out weeks later it's closing for refurb and they reassigned you to Maelstrom!

The larger point was people were pretty much in denial about the day that Test Track was closing for rehab. Many so called Disney experts on the DIS used the same arguments being used in this discussion on how Disney wouldnt do that but yet, Disney did in fact "do that".

George K will not allow this to ruin Disney. I know him, I trust him, unconditionally. There may be some bumps in the road, but he wont let it ruin Disney World.

I'm confused as to what "same arguments" were being used?

When I googled Test Track Closure, I found this article and this juicy quote:

While Test Track is closed for refurbishment, Guests may enjoy several unadvertised “surprise and delight” offerings, including the following which begin April 16:

The Test Track Allstars travel-themed A Cappella group will be performing daily in the area near the Test Track pavilion.
On a trial basis, Character Spot, Soarin’ and all attractions, merchandise locations and grab-n-go food & beverage offerings in The Land will remain open until 10pm.

OK - I hope Nick Franklin is going to re-evaluate that phrase "surprise and delight" in conjunction with FP+.

That may be the most disappointing connection thus far.

Don't be dissin' the possibility for a surprise FP to the Test Track Singers. That would, indeed, be fabulous and I would take back everything bad I ever said about FP+.

I thought the problem with the Test Track was that Disney gave no official word that TT was closing until the last minute. People couldn't believe that Disney would spring that on everybody. This FP+ seems very similar - there are people planning their trips right now, and they have no idea how they will be impacted. Seems like poor customer service. We are encouraged to plan a year in advance, pay a year in advance and then given pertinent information the day of. Seems odd for a company based on customer service.

But as mesaboy2 hints, as long as the A Capella singers are around - it will all be ok.

1- Observation.

2- Logic.

3- Panic.

What is it about possibly getting a maximum of 3 fastpasses per day with only one being for a headliner that is such an advantage? I'm puzzled by those who state that this will somehow make a day in the park easier. ONE headliner! ONE! Don't most people currently get more than one fastpass for a headliner in a day?

I surely do!
