FP Wait Times?

This may be a ridiculous question, but how long do you usually wait for a ride when you have a FP? If the park is super crowded does the FP line still take the same amount of time? (ie are there only a certain number of FPs given out every hour no matter how crowded the park gets?)

Debating doing HS our arrival day (Saturday, 9/28) and I'm sure the park will be packed, but if we can do our 3 FPs with a ~30min wait each and maybe one or two other things I'd count it as a success.

It really depends. I've walked right on in some cases and in others, I've waited 15 minutes. In some cases I've waited 15 minutes behind someone having an issue or arguing with a CM and then walked right on. There's no real way to predict it so I just plan on anything with a FP taking 15 minutes to board and then I can only be pleasantly surprised.

I don't think I've ever waited more than maybe 20 minutes to ride something with a FP (including level 10 spring break crowds).

Agree with others that <15 minutes is normal. Usually, less than 5'.
BUT, you are talking about HS soon after SWGE opens. Who knows...could be longer if park is at capacity.

From the FP FAQ, Post #2:
- It is rare for any FP wait at any normally-operating attraction to exceed 15-20 minutes. This includes the most popular or lowest capacity attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. However, be aware that some attraction preshows (FOP, notably) can take 5 minutes or more, and for purposes of this thread FP wait is not figured into total attraction time (to include pre-show, boarding, and attraction time).

The longest we waited in a FP line was 40 minutes for Kali Rapids in AK last Easter. We were just there March 7-11 & Didn’t wait longer than 15 minutes. I will add that we were unable to get any more FP at any park after 7 pm. When using the APP it said “ Fastpasses have concluded for the day.”

One factor is if the ride had down time. That gives everyone who had a fastpass for the closed time the opportunity to come back anytime for the rest of the day. They can also be used for any other ride (with a few limitations).

anywhere between 5-20 minutes. Usually under 10 minutes. FoP was over 20 once.

I longest we had last week was about 15 minutes at FOP and about 15 minutes at Buzz. The rest were almost walk-on. This is with about 20 FPs including Slinky, Minetrain.

You did 20 FPs on your stay at Disney?? :earseek: :hyper: How long were you there? Do you mind me asking what the FPs were for? I just like hearing what attractions different DISers prefer to use FPs on.

We were there for 4 and 1/2 days. We had 3 a day preplanned, then picked up extras after using them. I recall picking up extras for Buzz, Small World, Jungle Cruise, Mermaid, Twilight Zone, Figment and Living with the Land.

We could have picked up more, especially at MK. However, I didn't see Mine Train or Space Mountain, although Thunder and Splash popped up.

We had 5 people in our group and the most extra FPs available were at MK by far, as it has the most attractions.

We were staying 7 nights on property, so we were lucky to book the hard-to-get FPs early. We spent the afternoons at shows and picking up extras. That worked well for us.

You might have better luck picking up some of the top attractions if your group is smaller. I didn't try breaking up our group or any of those tricks to try to get the harder-to-get FPs.

It's just me and my son. My 60 day window opens April 3

The only time I have waited longer then 15-20 minutes in a FP line was New Year’s Eve for space Mountain and that was 30-40 minutes. So unless the park is very crowded ( like New Year’s Eve or opening day of SWGE ) A ride goes down and you can use your FP for other rides ( like at EPCOT TT goes down and you go ride sorin) right after a ride goes down every one that had a FP can now ride it unless they used there FP. then you have rider swap , DAS, VIP, guest recovery so the number for each hour can vary a lot.

From 0-15 minutes is a good estimation. Your results may vary based on what day, what time of day, what attraction, weather, ride issues, guests with accessible needs in front of you, tour groups, angry CMs, etc etc etc etc

Agree with others who say 0-15 minutes. Even over Christmas/New Years when fp lines look ridiculously long, the lines usually move super fast.

Going to agree with the 0-15 minute wait. I think our longest recently was for Soarin’, at about 20 minutes.

FOP on March 10th, we waited maybe 10 minutes. Two day later, it was about 15. Entered the queue and were in the gift shop within 30 minutes.

Walked on SE a few weeks ago, and the 18th we had a 10 min wait. Same for Frozen.

It’s hit or miss depending on the day and crowd levels. But I’d much rather wait 10-20 min than hours.

I've been able to get nearly 20 FPs (19) in one day when I was by myself. If it's just 2 of you, you should have no problem getting several more each day while you're there!

I have never done the refresh or booking other FPs after using the intial 3. Back in 2015 I was a FP+ virgin. :rotfl2::rotfl2: If you would have saw the rides I chose for our 4 days in the parks you would have laughed at me....long and hard. :lmao: The longest line I believe we stood in was Under the Sea....that was about 25 minutes if I'm remembering correctly. I didn't purchase our tickets till about 3 weeks before our trip. So that 60 day window was LONG gone. I'd missed the 30 day one by about a week I think. I was here on the DIS, but I NEVER looked at the FP sticky. @mesaboy2 tells me there was one back in 2015, but I just didn't bother because I didn't know better. I am really looking forward to seeing how many rides my son and I can do in MK on the two days we visit. I'm also "planning" to educate a famiy or two on why I'm in that "special" line  and they are doing stand-by.
