Hello everyone! I am a lurker on these boards and decided to make an account and report about my trip I just returned from on Saturday.
A little bit about this trip -
We went with three other families during this time, a total of 15 people. One family is the type of family who goes multiple times a year and the rest of us go every 2-3 years. The last time I visited WDW was in 2010 so quite a while ago!

The negativity on this site I had been reading and all the negative things about Disney on other sites really made me worried about this trip. I went into thinking I was not going to experience Disney like I remembered it 4 years ago. I just was scared about it all. The complete opposite happened and it was truly one of the best Disney trips I have taken.

The FP+ -
Our family loves to reride rides during the day. With FP+ we were able to guarantee at least one ride on our favorite attractions which was more than okay for us. Even though the lines seemed pretty long, 50-60 minutes for the major attractions, we still waited for them. Lone behold we never waited that long for the ride. The longest we waiting was 45 minutes for Rockin Roller Coaster. We learned that even though the sign might say the wait is long it usually is shorter and you should just go ahead and wait.

Honestly I was going to go on and on about this trip but what I have learned from this trip and just by reading these boards is a trip to WDW is what YOU make of it. You can go in with a negative attitude and have an awful trip. Now I understand things do happen that you cannot control but sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. We were a group of people who would interact with all the cast members, scream at every person who walked by during a parade and just enjoyed ourselves because we knew we were at the most magical place on earth. I really think the only people sucking the magic out of Disney are the people who believe the magic is gone.

If you have any questions about my trip, feel free to ask! I love talking about Disney!

We went Feb.25- Mar 7 and I admit I am the kind who will tackle new things with a bit of gusto. One of the people with me was my amazing married DD who makes organization look easy. We were read up, techied up and FP'd up.

We liked the MB's, but the whole FP+ system did not live up to our expectations (I had tested the system in Sept.) Many aspects of it were awkward, glitchy, and time-consuming. The few things that seemed to work well- like getting a FP for later in the day -still left us at odds with where we wanted to be and when we wanted to be there.

Oh well, we are flexible people. I just changed my plans and only used half of the tickets I had purchased.

:thumbsup2 I agree!!! Glad to hear you had a great trip!

I agree with you. We were there the same week and had a great time. We've gone every year for the past 7 years and this was one of the best trips. FP+ worked really well for OUR family. I can definitely see how it wouldn't work well for others. And for the people staying offsite I think it's not good at all at this point. It reinforced that we will continue to stay onsite for the foreseeable future.

We loved having the flexibility to change FP+ times, change FP+ attractions as needed and have different FP+ for different members of the family at the same time. Being able to take my little guy on Winnie the Pooh with a 2 minute wait while the others rode Space Mountain was great. And we LOVED having a FP+ for the MSEP. That was the BEST use of a FP+ for OUR family for the entire trip.
