FP Strategy

A few questions are posted below to help me create a fastpass strategy. See if you can help me:

Which generally has a longer line?
1) Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh
2) Jungle Cruise or Haunted Mansion
3) Space Mountain or Buzz Lightyear
4) Primeval Whirl or Dinosaur
5) Little Mermaid or Muppetvision 3D

I don't know about Dinosaur/Primevil Whirl but for the others I would say:

Peter Pan
Haunted Mansion
Space Mountain
Little Mermaid.

I can't answer all your questions specifically, but I do know the Peter Pan line moves much slower than Winnie the Pooh so here is has the longer or slower lines:

1. Peter Pan
2. Jungle Cruise
3. Probably SM, but Buzz is very popular too.
4. Don't know
5. Little Mermaid

You can get a Fast Pass for Buzz and 5 minutes after it's time for your Buzz FP, get a SM fast pass which will probably be much later in the day. This summer the time printed at the bottom of the FP was always 5 mintues after the FP became active. Of course, if you're there early enough in the morning, you can just get a SM fast pass and then hop on Buzz while you wait or check the wait times and FP times of both rides to decide.

Here's my opinion-- I wouldn't necessairly chose the items you did to verse each other. I would use FP's for both Pooh and Peter Pan as they are both usually long lines. HM-- seem's to move and I wouldn't waste a FP on that. Same thing w/ Muppetvision. As for Mermaid-- FP is a great way to not have to stand in line. Jungle Cruise-- we only do it if it's walk on. Cute, but not 45 minutes in line cute.

In my experience, it's:

1) Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh
2) Jungle Cruise or Haunted Mansion
3) Space Mountain or Buzz Lightyear
4) Primeval Whirl or Dinosaur
5) Little Mermaid or Muppetvision 3D

The key to seeing all of the attractions is to get to the park at opening. For instance, we get to the MK when it opens and one of us rides Dumbo with our DD and the other gets the first Fast Pass of the day for Peter Pan. That FP starts about 60-100 minutes after park opening.

We then ride Pooh and then onto Buzz a couple of times, each with a very small wait, if any before we head over to Adventureland. We'll do the Magic Carpets or maybe the Jungle Cruise, all the while circling around the park toward the back of Peter Pan.

When the FP for Pan starts, we get a FP for one of the Mountains. Sometimes we'll split up and one of us will take our passes to get FP's while the other one stands in line with our DD. We carry GMRS radios (we have an FCC license) to keep in touch. Sometimes we'll get a 3rd FP for a Mountain when the first Mountain starts.

The longest lines, IMO, are for Space Mountain and Primeval Whirl. It is not unusual for those lines to be over an hour by noon when it's busy. It's also not unusual for FP's to be completely gone by 1:00 or 2:00 during busy times.

Would someone be willng to "rank" which FP rides you should do first, second, etc at each of the parks? I am more concernced with Magic Kingdom where there are many FP rides ...

I will try... When you first get to the MK go straight through the castle and go to Mickey's Phillarmagic. If there is no line, go and see it. It is not to be missed. After that you will be right next to Whinne the Pooh and Peter Pan. If the lines are too long get fast passes, if not ride away. Next go to Tomorrow land. Now depending on when you are going, Stich maybe open and since it is a new ride opening in November, it will more than likely have Fast Pass. If it is open either get the FP or ride, then Go get a fp for Space Mt. and or BUzz. Now some people have their own strategy and some might disagree with what I am saying, but it all depends on what you and your family want to do. Feel free to send me a message.

Your info is very helpful. I am just getting nervous when people say the FP's can be out by 1:00/2:00 ... does that mean for ALL FP rides? Yikes!

I believe Stitch will be open so I am sure the FP's will go quickly for those. It is a priority for us to see Stitch and Mickey's Philharmonic seeing as these are both new to us since we have been last (2000). My kids were all big fans of Alien Encounter so I hope Stitch can top that! lol

When are you going? FP's are out by noon only during the busiest times, like Christmas week.

BTW, I wouldn't go to Mickey's Philharmagiic right away. You'll be able to get into the show easier without a FP than Peter Pan, Stitch, Pooh or Buzz.

If you want to ride Dumbo, DO IT FIRST!!!! While 1 adult and the little one is on Dumbo have the other get a FP for Peter Pan. Ride Pooh, If time is right get a FP for Pooh so that you can do it 2x's. Then ride Peter Pan, if its time or the speedway and the tea cups. Finish up all that you can in Fantasyland before 10:00. At 10:00 head to Toon Town and do Barnstormer. Being there early will make so much difference. Especiallly duing the busy times of the year. Always have a FP for something!

I think you'll be OK as long as you expect things to be crowded. Get to the parks early, early, early. You can get more done in the MK in the first 3 hours it's open than the next 5-6 hours combined. Really. If you're staying onsite, then use the Extra Magical Hour and go to the park that's open an hour early for onsite guests. If you're staying off-site, make sure to go to a different park than the EMH park. Either way, get there when the park opens and plan on taking a break in the day for rest and swimming.

I think the best thing for you is to rank the attractions that your family wants to see and then work the FP's into that plan. Do as much as you can in the first couple of hours. All the FP attractions tend to have long stand-by lines when it's crowded, so you should rank the ones that are most important to you. Send one person to get the next FP as soon as you can, either when your time slots starts or 2 hours after obtaining the last one, which ever comes first.

Yes. I pick up my first FP while my DD is riding Dumbo with my husband. The FP kiosk will be open at 8:25 on an EE day, but not on a day when the park opens at 9:00.

I couldn't agree more....matter of fact...that was our strategy. Did EE, Fantasyland (Dumbo) first, but, we did FL so quick, TTF wasn't open yet (10am)...so, we did Tomorrowland and then over to TTF.....

I agree with this post also......the trick is (if you're onsite) to do EE and get your family to Fantasyland.......if you do this way, you may not even need to use the FP....
