FP - Soarin or Test Track?

We are going to MNSSHP this October, which I figure will be a late night for my two sons ages 5 & 9. We are planning on Epcot the next day and getting FP for either TT or Soarin. However, I'm struggling with making them get up early to do rope drop to do the one we did not get a FP for. Which would you recommend getting FP for to make sure we at least do one of them? Or does anyone have any strategies to do both rides without being there first thing?

Unfortunately, the best strategy for doing both with a late arrival won't work for you. That is to use single rider line for TT. The minimum age is 7.

I would do rope drop and take a break for rest.

If that is not palatable, I would book FP for TT and do standby for Soarin'.

I hope you are doing a weekday since Epcot is more crowded on weekends during that time.

I would recommend getting a FP+ for Soarin' and riding TT standby, although often the waits are almost the same so you'll be waiting about the same time for the one without the FP+.

I suggest using the FP for Soarin. Ridiculous line and horrible queue to wait in. Test track moves much faster in my opinion and has lots to look at while waiting in line.

I would always FP Soarin over everything at Epcot for a few reasons.

Also, this may not work for the people in your family that want to ride TT but they do have a single rider line...

Please sleep in after MNSSHP! You will need it. It is such a fun party but the kiddos will be wiped out if you stay until midnight or beyond! I would also FP Soarin' and then ride TT in the last hour it is open that night. Get in line right before they are closing and that will be the shortest line you will have. I could miss TT on a trip and it wouldn't bother me, but I have to ride Soarin' every time we go to Epcot!

I get there at rope drop. But even if not, I get FP for Soarin and do single rider line for Test Track. Soarin there is no single rider line.

TT breaks down or gets shut down for weather all the time. I'd FP Soarin and do TT at rope drop.

eta-even if you don't make RD, I'd still do it the same way, but I happen to not be a huge TT fan and usually don't bother trying to ride it at all :/

I would do this

FP Soarin.

TT is really take it or leave it for me - but that's because I typically travel solo, so I'd be stuck with whatever group I got stuck in the car with designed. Even when I'm with my family (all adults), TT is take it or leave it as we couldn't care less about designing our own ride and saw nothing wrong with how it was.

I agree with most everyone here it seems. Get a Fast Pass for Soarin' and do the single rider line for Test Track. They are both musts, but that is probably the easiest way to get both of them in.

As already mentioned, the OP cannot make use of the single rider line due to the age of the youngest child.
Is she traveling with another adult or is she just going with the 2 young children? If she has another adult with her they can take turns in the single rider lane.

The original post sounded like just the one adult and two boys.

If that is the case then leaving those young children wouldn't work. I still think she could get a fast Pass for Soarin' and just wait in the line for Test Track and do both. It will take longer, but in my opinion it is doable.

Thanks for the input everyone! It will be myself and husband with our two boys. My 5 year old will definitely want to go on TT but sounds as if he's too young to do single rider. Boo.

Then you should definitely get a Fast Pass for Soarin' and trade off with you Husband on the Single Rider lane for Test Track.
