FP+, regular FP, and waiting til arrival?

Can you wait until arrival to buy tickets and get the FP+ feature at the kiosk on yourfirst park day? I will be staying at the Dolphin on a last min. trip and haven't had any experience with FP+. Does it have to be linked to an armband, or a ticket? And can you still do it the old way and get regular FP? I'm so confused. Already way past the 60 day window and I'm worried we won't get anything done.

There are no more legacy FP machines, only FP+ kiosks. You can still do this in the parks at the kiosks, but the most popular attractions may be gone or have limited availability depending on the time of year. Once you have used the initial three, you may go to a kiosk and try to book another for the park you are in. FP+ selections must be linked to a valid ticket, so the ticket must be paid for before you can make selections through the website or app. My advice would be to create a My Disney Experience account if you don't have one and link your resort reservation. Then, you can buy tickets through the website and make FP+ selections if you want them in advance. You can also link any ADRs you have this way to make them easier to look up.
