Hi All! I was at the DLR this past weekend although it was a hybrid work/vacation weekend. So I wasn't at DL at rope drop every morning (the horror!) and usually had just the evenings there. I also was in Long Beach, so that was a little bit of a drive, but we made it work.

First, just want to confirm that Screamin' is still disconnected as of this weekend:

BTMRR is still connected as of this weekend :(:

Roger Rabbit is still disconnected, but I forgot to test it. But it has been disconnected forever.

And as you can tell from the times on the FPs, while the parks had lots of people, the wait times were not outta control. I picked up a Soarin' FP on Saturday at 5:02 pm with a return time of 6:20pm. Not bad at all. The standby line at this time was about 45 minutes. I then picked up the Screamin' FP at 5:39pm for a 6:50 return time. Again, not bad at all for a Saturday. The standby was about 30 minutes at that time.

I would call this weekend a solid 6-7 out of a possible 10. And what really worked was that the parks were running at full capacity even though it was nowhere near a summer weekend. For example, both sides of BTMRR began operation in the morning instead of just one side. They were running 4-5 trains on Screamin' and had all the entertainment out in full force.

Sometimes when I am there in the real off season, the lines end up the same or longer because they are running things at less than maximum capacity. This was kind of perfect, a moderate crowd, but DL was operating at almost full tilt. It kept the lines reasonable, ST and Space were consistently at 45-55 minutes for standby, while BTMRR and Indy were in the 25-35 minute range. The walkways got bottled up as is typical, but nothing unmanageable. I wouldn't mind being there again on a weekend like this.

Saw RDCT on the weekend and was just reminded that this is probably the best fireworks show ever! I like it so much more than Magical. :wizard:

DLR was offering this coupon this past weekend:

The shops were getting crowded at night, so I imagine they were trying to stave off the worst of it. Since the discount is the same as my AP, I didn't use it, but it would definitely have changed my shopping behavior if I didn't have an AP!

Carsland is looking soooo good! I was looking over the walls and getting super excited about the progress. It is looking amazing and very close to completed. :cool1:

Anyway, this was just a little appetizer trip for a longer one that begins in 19 days. On this next trip, my nieces will be coming and we will being doing rope drop for sure! I hope everyone is planning their own trip to DL! :goodvibes

Forgot to say we saw a maid at the HM with a blue name tag. Asked her about it and she said she received a Legacy award that is for front line employees. It was kind of fun to talk to her about it and was the first time I had ever seen that. Good for her! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the great report Owl. :thumbsup2

It's always good to get the up to date info from the troops on the ground. :listen:

:)

Thanks for sharing! That is the first time I have seen them include the Emporium and DCA stores on the 20% discount. Last time we used it at The World of Disney store. It was a great discount. So many people had no idea the coupon was on the back of their receipts. Sounds like you have had your teaser for you upcoming trip! ::yes::
