FP+ Problem...

I have a large group going to Disneyworld (5 rooms of people). However, two people that have their own room dont show up until 3 days after the rest of the group. The problem lies with the FP+ system. Everyone wants to stay together and ride as a big group so I was planning on getting everyones FP+ at the same time, but it hit me last night that if two of the people are not showing up until a few days later, they will not have the same FP+ window open up as us unless I wait pausing the whole group until their 60 day window shows up. This concerns me in that we will all miss out on some of the hard to get items we all wanted.

Is there a solution for this problem? Can I call Disney and tell them that those two people are actually there sharing someone elses room until their room opens up 3 days later even though they wont be there? This is the only way I can think of being able to get FP+ for everyone for the group when it opens up at the same time 60 days out rather than waiting the 3 days and risking losing everything we all want.

Thoughts?

You could, but you'd have to add them to someone else's reservation and pay the extra adult fees.

I have a similar situation in November. We have 2 rooms of people arriving the 19th and others arrive the 23rd. I looked over the FP+ board done by mesaboy....I'll look for the link. I have been told by a few there that, because we are all linked in MDX, I will be able to book their fastpasses when our earlier window opens.

What extra fees? Were DVC members and the rooms are already covered/paid.

Oh I hope so that will totally solve the problem! Thank you!

There are no extra fees with DVC. You didn't mention you were staying DVC in your initial post, hence my reply.

Gotcha....thanks for your response.

I just hope that I can leave as is and book all the FP+ at the same time as beck00 mentioned above...

1. It is HERE.

2. Correct.

As long as there is room to add them - as in, you can't go over the legal number of guests allowed to stay in the room - then it should work just fine.

If you're all linked you don't have to wait. We are perfect example. Myself, my kids and grandkids all have APs. I booked in June a room in Sept for myself, my youngest daughter and my grandkids (my oldest daughters kids) my other daughters and hubby weren't sure if the could go. When my 60 day window opened, I could make FPs together but I had to have one of the 4 in the room with the non-reservation ones. I always split apart easier to book the must does and get a window....example 7DMT even at 60 days out I could not book all 7 but for one of the days I split us up and we have an overlapping window of 15 minutes. Same with Toy Story Mania. Our TSM doesn't start until 10:30 so we'll go standby for RnR.

How come last year when my parents arrived 2 days before us (we were all linked on MDE), on their 60 day mark only they could do their fps, but not ours? We had to wait 2 days since our tickets were technically not valid yet in the system. I thought this was how it was. We did have packages booked, so maybe that is why? Or did this change this year? I just assumed this was how it was if people linked to your MDE were arriving after you.

Ya know, that's how I assumed it would work for us too in a couple of weeks when I book FP+, but that's not what I'm reading on these threads. I'm glad to know it will be a little easier for me to do everyone's despite the diff arrival days. Someone with more knowledge/experience will need to explain this one to you.

Something must have changed because last year when I did my parents, our names wouldn't even show up because we checked in 2 days after them. And yesterday my friend did his fps at his 60 day marks- he is staying onsite with his family at AKL and he has other family members coming mid-trip but they are staying off-site... He assumed he couldn't do the fps for the ones staying offsite since you have to wait until the 30 day mark.. well he was able to do everyones! Even the people staying offsite- I was shocked! I am thinking it was a glitch because I could have sworn that if you are staying offsite you had to wait until 30 days out to do them.

Offsite people who are linked to an onsite MDE share the 60-day window.

Package people are the ones who are limited because packages can only be booked 60 days out from the package check-in day even if they are linked to another guest's MDE with an earlier window.

It's more advantageous to book room-only and link tickets separately. Then everyone benefits from the earliest opening FP window when MDEs are linked together.

Wow I never knew this! Thanks for clarifying that! So nothing changed on our end, being linked on MDE with all packages.
