I am having trouble deciding between GAD FP or one day free. We are a family of 5 - with 5 vouchers, we are traveling in Aug. (15th to 22nd) We typically travel in June and we go with a plan and never wait in line. That being said maybe it would be nice to not have to worry about running for a FP all the time. On the other hand I could really use almost a $400 savings.
I guess my question is - will the crowds be that much lower than we are used to? TIA

How many park days are you going for? To go from a 7 day adult base ticket to an 8 day ticket is a difference of 4 dollars, so I'm not really sure how you'd be saving 400 dollars? If you each only got 7 day tickets instead of 8 day tickets and used the voucher for the 8th day, you'd only save around 17 dollars (assuming two adults and 3 children)

If the OP redeems the vouchers for one-day tickets, then upgrades them to the number of days needed, they will receive a credit of $79 plus tax per adult for the one day tickets. So that is almost $400 saved for five people.

OP, June and mid-August crowds are probably pretty comparable. Mid-August typically marks the beginning of free dining if it is offered, so crowds may still be there. Of course, if you decide to take advantage of free dining, then you would need to buy at least a one-day ticket for each person. The package tickets can be saved for another trip, though. They won't expire until you use them, and you can upgrade them to the number of days you need next time.

you could also do a combination.

Remember if you use say two gad vouchers one at mk and one at hs each person in your party will get the fp for each ride so you could use theother remainer 3 vouchers to redeem for the 79$ off each upgrade.

We went in March and it was much busier than used to so we used on gad for FP and it was great!! At home I was thinking about "wasting" money by using it as a fp but when the lines were long and fp's were handed out we were loving it!
