FP+ "Meet A&E at Princess Fairytale Hall" ???

There are cancellation threads on this board (much like the ADR cancellation threads) - at least there have been in the past. It was through a thread like that that I got our only A&E FP+ last year. So if those threads are still around, I recommend subscribing to one.

It's also worth checking periodically, as there are cancellations. I've heard around the 45 day mark is a good time to check, because that's when people have to cancel packages by.

Aside from that, then yes, I would plan on rope dropping A&E as the absolute backup plan. But if you want to do A&E at RD, and *not* have the wait in line, then you'll need to be at the park at least 30-45 mins prior to rope drop (depending on how busy it is during your trip) - so that you're at the *front* of the RD crowd. If you're at the back, as we were last year, it hits a 90 min posted wait very quickly.

If you're going in November, they just released a whole bunch of FP's for A&E because they extended the hours at MK by 1-2 hours for a lot of nights. I would check again- I got lucky today and managed to get some and I've been checking unsuccessfully since 60 days out. I posted this on the Nov A&E cancellation thread today and a few other DISers have gotten them too!

I just found I could get four - except now I get to spend then next couple weeks trying to adjust the times so they overlap as I am pretty sure they won't let the kids go it alone :-D

Oh I never stay late at MK so I assumed fireworks and close were the same time! My bad!

We tried to run back at rope drop for our trip back in March, didn't happen. It was so crowded you could barely move, there was no running to make it. I think we were there about 30 minutes prior to rope drop, may have been closer to 45.

I will say it was the ONLY day that was like that for our trip, which was the first week of March. The rest were smooth sailing, we didn't attempt rope drop after the failed try for our second MK day.

When we were at MK last week, a bunch of A&E FPs became available in the morning both days we went to MK. I was luckily able to grab some a few weeks before we left when they released the evening November times, but I was trying to switch a different FP for all 7 people in my party, and A&E was surprisingly available for 7 people the day of. I would definitely try checking for FP the day of your MK visit. The standby lines were crazy while we were there.
