FP Issues - new rules?

Hello everyone!

I was at DHS today and had some trouble utilizing FP strategies that I have always used and am curious if some changes have been made.

I was not able to get another Tier 1 FP despite using all 3 advance FPs this morning. The option just wasn't there. The app just said "You've already chosen one of these experiences." I have never had this issue before - are you now only allowed only one Tier 1 per day per park?

Also, I was not able to get another FP for ANY attraction for which I already used a FP to ride. After using my 3 FPs (one of which was ToT), I was not able to get another ToT FP. I tried choosing an available time and got the "The following guests already have an FP for this attraction" - even though it had been used.

I tried restarting the app, restarting my phone, etc with no change. Is this happening to anyone else? I did update the app last night. Is this a glitch with the newest version of the app? New policy to limit people getting multiple FPs for the same ride in the day? What's the deal?

It sounds like one of your FP's may not have gotten "used" and therefore you were still on your original 3 as far as the computer was concerned. That's just a guess though. I feel like that happened to me once, but I didn't know that much about getting the extra FPs then.

That's my guess as well.

Did the Mickey head turn green when you scanned at the FP locations? It makes me think something didn't scan properly. If it turned blue, then a CM may have waved you in and the system didn't register you used a FP. In that circumstance, it should have turned blue, CM did some stuff on their screen, then had you rescan and it turned green. That would have cleared it from your account.

This is definitely possible.

Each one did linger around a bit after I used it, but they eventually went away. Still wasn't able to add. I did get one "any experience" FP when ToT went down - could that have messed things up?

How in the world can this be addressed in-park? It wasn't a big deal today as I'm a passholder and just stopped by for a couple hours while in the area, but that's a real bummer if that happens early in the day when you're planning on being there all day.

Good point. All turned green - I know because I was getting there 5 mins early pretty much on the dot and was waiting for the blue to pop up :)

Yeah, that’s it! If you get an anytime FP it no longer counts to your 3. So no booking a pass for another Tier 1, or any ride you had already gone on.

Best thing to do in that circumstance is get a throwaway FP. Either a show or ride or something that has immediate availability. Then either let it expire naturally, or tap in at the attraction but don’t actually go in. Muppet vision, Tough to be a Bug, or Pixar film fest are usually good bets. Once that one gets cleared from the account you are able to book 4th FPS like normal.

Thanks, everyone! I can add this little nugget to my knowledge bank now.

Mainly just happy that some new rules didn't pop up overnight!

Lost Yeti, just to confirm, you were granted an anytime FP but you didn't use it, correct? You used the 3 FPs you had made in advance, but didn't use the anytime FP?

I'm just wondering because I was granted an anytime FP after there was an equipment malfunction on my wife's FoP bike and we had to wait a turn. We decided to use it immediately on Navi afterwards as the wait for that was longer then anticipated and we didn't want to be late to use our FoP FP...but we had no problem booking additional FPs after that, so I'm assuming the only difference in your situation was that you didn't use your anytime FP....

I had FPs reserved for RnRC, ToT, and Star Tours to start the day. When I arrived, I realized that I wasn't going to be in the park long enough to use my Star Tours FP, so I dropped it. RnRC was first on my schedule and ToT went down while I was in line for RnRC pretty much immediately after my FP time slot for ToT opened. I was awarded the "Anytime/most experience" FP when ToT went down. (So my advance ToT FP was converted to an anytime)

After RnRC, ToT was already back up and I used my anytime FP. I picked up another ToT FP while in line for ToT (it was for fifteen minutes from then - no brainer :)) and used that immediately after my first ToT ride. Trying to get additional FPs was the issue from here.

I did use 3 FPs but one was the anytime. So, if I understand correctly, the anytime does not count toward the three and that's why I was having problems. I thought I could book another Tier 1 after using a Tier 1, but I couldn't. I guess I needed to use another FP in order to book additional Tier 1s or a FP for a ride I had already been on.

Got it. So, in reality, you actually only used 2 "regular" FPs (RnRC and second ride on ToT). The anytime FP didn't really count towards your necessary quota, so as it was, the system recognized that you had only rode one Tier 1 (RnRC) attraction and 2 FPs overall, so since you hadn't used up 3 FPs, that's why it wasn't letting you book another Tier 1 attraction. Whew.

I have a real ignorant question: how did you get FP for RnRC and ToT both? Aten’t they both tier 1?
