We visited over President's Day Weekend, Saturday-Wednesday, and the crowd levels ranged from 7 to 9. I consider that crowded. Still, with the exception of a horrid 75 minute wait at Test Track due to an immensely inaccurate posted wait time of 30 minutes, we never waited for anything longer than 23 minutes. (I timed every wait!). Before FP+, I am sure that your family used certain strategies to avoid long lines, including the judicious use of FPs. Now, with FP+, you still have to do the same. FP+ is not a panacea against having to plan. You still need to do that. And when you do, you will find that you are able to "beat the system" just like before. There will be differences, but it can be done. Rope Drop is critical now because you cannot fast pass everything. So rides that you know you are going to do standby are best done very early or very late. So use RD and EMHs. If your kids are only interested in a half dozen rides and want to do those over and over again, well, then you're in trouble. But if you want to explore the full bounty of all the parks, it can be done as long as you have a plan and don't mind arriving early. That is what we did, and on days when the parks were at "9" and 70-90 minute waits were the norm, we didn't wait in a single one of them (except that one bad TT experience) and we did every ride that we wanted to do that was actually operating. I am not a huge fan of FP+, but it certainly didn't present any obstacles to make me think that we won't return. In fact, my teenage daughter hugged me and thanked me for being such a "Disney Planner" and even said: "If mommy and I ever came here by ourselves, we could never do what we are doing now because we just aren't as good at this as you are. You are getting us through incredibly crowded parks without ever having to wait 30 minutes for a ride." It can be done, but you have to know what you are doing.
