FP For Two Parties Arriving 3 Days Apart

Good Morning All -- We're staying at CSR beginning Dec 3. Our friends are arriving with their family on Dec. 6. I read on the board a few weeks ago that if we linked MDE accounts, I could begin making FP+ reservations for EVERYONE on Oct. 4 (when my 60-day window opens), even though the other party's FP window does not open until Oct. 7. Today I was speaking to an IT cast member on another issue when I asked about this. The CM said that I'd have to wait to do the joint FP reservations until the 7th. Just seeking clarification from those who have done this before.

Do you have a package and does your friend have a package?

If so, you have to wait until their package date opens and then add them to your booked FPs via Change Party.

We both have packages. We get in on Dec. 3 and they get in on Dec. 6. Can I add them to booked FPs if none are available (or at least none in the time frame we already booked)?

No, the system will only add them if there is availability.

Then, you'll have to search for an overlapping FP time for them.

Always try to book for them when your window opens. If the system is glitching, you may be able to include them. The odds aren't good but you may as well try.

The other thing your friends can do is change to Room-only and buy tickets separately. Then you can book for the complete group when your window opens.

It's just how "packages" work. The tickets technically aren't active until the day you check-in. The FP system allows the booking of FPs based on the booked "package."
