FP+ for river of lights?

Show up at a FP entrance 20-45 minutes before show-time.
(If it were me, I'd be there sooner rather than later, to get the better seats.)

So to get a reasonably good seat you'd recommend turning up 45 minutes before showtime with Fastpass+? What would be the time to turn up for a similar quality seat if you had a dining package reservation - would it have to be earlier or could you get away with later?

1. Yup.
2. Same.
3. One of the most proven WDW truisms:
If seeing a specific performance of a show is important, chancing arriving far too early beats arriving one minute too late.
OTOH, if seeing a performance of a show is just of passing interest, arriving later may do just fine.

Makes sense.

While seeing RoL is not a must do for us, I'd still rather see it than not. And although we're planning to be in AK on two days during our trip, we're probably not going to be able to stay to park close on both nights, meaning we've really only got one shot to see the show (and our trips to WDW are typically every 2/3 years after all).

Still debating whether to go down the FP+ or Dining package route and was trying to work out whether it would mean any difference in the time we'd have to turn up for it. It's different with shows that have been running for a long time and that we've seen before (e.g. Fantasmic) as we've got lot of experiences, both personal and from others on here, that we now know how long before to arrive in order to sit wherever, but with a newer show it's a lot more up in the air.
