FP+ for parades and Meet & Greet

I was wanting to get input on anyone that has used Fastpass+ for parades and Character Meet and Greets.

If you are usually one who gets a spot well in advance for the parades or fireworks, was the Fastpass spot a good one and was it a good use of a fastpass in your opinion.

The same with the Character Meet and Greet. In your opinion is this a good use of a fastpass and if so what was the best characters to use this on. (I am thinking more of the lines not if it depends on how old the child is or how much they want to see a certain character as if it is worth it or not)

Just wanted some input on these new options of the Fastpass.
