Is a FP really necessary for LMA or do most people just get in if they were in line about 2-30mins before the show starts? I'm going on January 5th, where crowd calendars show a significantly lower number. I do realize it may be more crowded than what was predicted. But has anybody not been able to get into LMA?

You'll definitely get it. Only get a FP if you don't want to wait a long time in standby for specific seats. If we're watching it we'll get a FP because we like to sit by the front, but don't want to wait a long time in standby. Some people wait 30min-hour in line. FP gets in before standby so they get first dibs.

But no you don't need FP to see it

If you get there too late, the SB line gets let in and the FP+ is worthless. I don't know what too late is, but I know we did it. You will still have to wait some, even with an FP+.

Worthless and pointless.
(And, I don't say that about many things at WDW.)

You don't need a FP+ for it except if you want a better seat selection and get there before they start letting the stand-by line in. The theater is huge and we have never seen people turned away. Like I said FP+ is only useful if you get to the theater before they open it to the stand-by line. Cheers!!!!!!

January 5th starts the fireworks at DHS. The crowd levels may end up higher than predicted. And certain attractions will close before the fireworks.

FP+ isn't necessary for LMA.

Moving this to FP subforum.
