FP+ for Frozen Singalong = disappointment

I searched for weeks for a FP+ for this as we, like many families, have a huge Frozen fan that we wanted to make sure had great seats. However, we walked past the standby entrance and over to the FP line, scanned our bands, and were dumped right in behind all the people that walked into the standby entrance as we were walking past.

I thought I had read that FP+ would get first entry but they just had everyone standing together. We moved as far in as we could but we still ended up at the far end of a row :( Definitely felt like a big waste of time searching for one.

Does the FP+ just guarantee entrance? If we had known, we would have ducked into standby and been further ahead as it definitely wasn't full.

Yeah, it's not a good use of a fp unless you're going on a completely packed day and seeing the Frozen Singalong at a particular time is an absolute must.

We also wasted a fp on this over the summer when it wasn't necessary at all. You'd think they'd let the fp people in first, so it would at least feel worthwhile.

FP worked great when the Sing along was in the smaller theater near Lights, Motor, Action. Now that it is at the Hyperion, FP is a complete waste. We used it last month and entered as soon as the FP window opened. We were directed to a horizontal line with the doors to our left. The CMs filled the line across and then started stacking people behind us. Problem was, by doing that, at least 100 people who arrived after us, were stacked closer to the doors and entered the theater first.
But having said that, we still had excellent seats. Now that I know how it works at the new venue (the old American Idol), I won't use a FP for it.

A consistent takeaway from show FPs is how inconsistently they are handled. Depending on day, show, CM, whatever....the show may load one way for one show and then another way for the next show. Depending on the venue, getting in first may be a benefit or an impediment ("move all the way down" anyone?). Bottom line is that show FPs are generally difficult to assign much worth to, and one reason is because you have often have no idea where you will end up once the show starts.

For what it's worth, I used an FP for Frozen recently and in my case all FPs were let into the preshow area while the standbys were held outside. The doors opened and all FP holders went in, and only then did standby follow. Our seats were probably three-fourths of the way back, and fairly far left (as looking at the stage). Not great, and I'm sure some standby folks got better seats--oh well.

Yes, the problem with being first at a show is they instruct you to "move all the way down the aisle". So now you are at the far end of the stage looking sideways.

right so ideally you don't want to go in "first-ish" you want to head in so you end up in the middle of an aisle. We regularly use FP for the sing along (mainly because we don't want to use it on anything else). In the new theater we like to enter via the FP line about 10 minutes before the show starts - to limit waiting and to get good seats - we like to seat towards the back and travel during quieter times.

Thanks for posting! I initially booked us a FP+ for this but then decided to switch it to Star Tours instead. You just re-affirmed my decision for me!

Hmm, well, I have a FP+ for it too. But since I don't ride RnR or ToT, and I already have a FP+ for ST and TSMM.... :confused3

hopefully we'll get a seat where we can see.
