So I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with priority seating using FP+ for viewing fantasmic. In past visits we usually wait in that huge line long before the show actually starts. I'm wondering that if by FP+ing for priority seating, does this excuse you from getting in that line really early allowing you to hit shorter wait times while others are waiting in line for fantasmic?

I used a FP+ for Fantasmic in October. It was very nice not to have to wait in the huge line, we strolled up about a half hour before the show started. But the downside is the seats are way to the left when you are looking at the stage. If you really want a seat towards the center, then you need to either get their early or book a dinner package.

Not worth it. I do not believe it gets you particular seating. See the green link in my signature for more info.

hmmm, if you do the dinner seating do you still have to wait in the big long line? We did that once and for the life of me I cannot remember how that process went.

Even with Fp+, if you want the most central seating area in the Fp+ section, Pocahontas, you need to arrive at least 45 minutes before showtime. If you don't mind the farthest left seating section, which isn't the greatest, you can arrive 10 minutes before.

The Dining Section is the two center sections and you do not have to stand in line. Gates open one hour before showtime and most Dining guests were arriving at least 30 minutes before the show.

right on Mesaboy. Good intel. Next question, going back to my last post. I'm super sold on the dining options for the dining/fantasmic package, are the seats/time saved not waiting in line worth it?

That's a different question. At least with the dining package you do get reserved seating in a center section. For the DP I do not know the current cost, wait time, or what "worth it" means to you, but in your shoes I would seriously consider it--especially if you were planning to eat at one of the participating restaurants anyway.

Is the 2nd showing of fantasmic significantly less crowded?

It depends on the time of year. On New Year's Day 2013, the first two of three shows were standing room only.

Last month, the second Fant wasn't crowded at all. At least four sections of the amphitheater were empty... a friend and I were the only two people sitting in the far left Beast section. The second Fant began 30 minutes after the park closed.
