Going to WDW for 2 or 3 days first week of May. First time going to WDW for all of us. Staying offsite. Have not yet purchased tickets. What do I need to know? We are planning one day at MK arriving at RD and staying until closing . (Kids are older). From what I understand we have to wait in line at a FP kiosk and plan our 3 rides for the day? After that done is there an app for my iPhone to manage it? Where are these kiosks? Are they all together or spread out? Is it better to sprint to a further from the gate one upon arrival? If we run to space mountain when we arrive will we need to FP it? What is a touring plan? Sorry for the 20 questions but I'm panicking reading all the posts about FP+. Feel like I've shot myself in the foot for booking offsite but the price was unbeatable. We are staying 2 miles away. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Who knows what will be happening in May - there isn't any way we can even speculate on that yet. Right now you will not be able to book any FP+ until you arrive at the park, purchase your ticket and visit a kiosk. Yes there is an app, it is called My Disney Experience (MDX). Your park ticket must be linked to your MDX account before you can use it to manage FP+.

You no longer need to run to any attraction to aquire FP. You can book all three of your FP+ choices for the day at the same time. You may have to move them around to get the times you want.

As to where the kiosks are, I don't know. I've never used them myself.

We are also going in May and staying off-site Saturday to Saturday in a pool home that's 2 miles away. It's perfect for our family of six

The Friday before however we are staying on-site in an AOA family suite. I think we are paying $325 for the one night BUT we are then able to use FP+ for our entire stay (7-days worth of tickets were added to our package with the one night AOA stay)

Not sure if that would be worth the added expense but it is for us! Getting up early and rushing to the parks every day is not my hubby's idea of a vacation!

Hope this helps!

So if I buy my tickets ahead of time I can link them to an app but I will still need to wait in line at a FP+ kiosk to reserve my rides. After they are reserved will I be able to adjust if needed via the app? Seems like some strategizing will be required.

It's a three step process..

Step 1: Find a thread in which Mesaboy posted.

Step 2: Follow the links in his signature.

Step 3: Profit.

Oh, and I almost forgot Step 4: Enjoy your trip!..:)
