We're doing a one-day three-park visit on Tuesday August 20th -- rope dropping AK, going to DHS midday, and then finishing at Epcot for EMH. Planning to Lyft from AK to whatever park we go to second. For context, Kids are 8 and 10, thrill junkies, this is our second visit to DW, we are going to Universal for the rest of the week, we visit DL yearly and are planning to get the new DL Flex Pass, so mainly interested in things not at DL. I've shown my kids videos of SDD and they're kind of "meh" about it.

Since we're arriving Saturday August 17th, my 60-day FP window opens tomorrow.

Animal Kingdom "must dos": FoP, Navi, EE
DHS "must dos": RnRC
Epcot "must dos": Agent P, Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Mission Space

My ideal plan was to cluster FP+ for RnRC, TOT, and SDD in midday from 2-5 to provide enough time to get to Epcot for Agent P missions (which stop at 8:15 pm and are on my kids' "must do" list). Based on the poster whose FP+ window opened today and was only able to get a SDD at 5-6, I'm thinking my ideal plan is not going to come true.

Back up options I'm considering:
(1) Take a later SDD FP, if available, cluster the other two FP+ in the late evening, go directly from AK to Epcot to do a few Agent P missions, walk to HS from the International Gateway before returning to Epcot for EMH (this is obviously inefficient time wise, as it requires two trips to EPCOT).
(2) Same as (1) above, but if SDD is not available, take TSM instead and try for SDD at park close before returning to Epcot.
(3) Skip SDD entirely and take a midday TSM FP (keeping plan to go to Epcot after)
(4) Make FP+ reservations for AK instead and try to modify as soon as we get into AK to pick up a RnRC same-day FP. I know we can do can RnRC single-rider if we don't get a FP+ but this seems like a risky approach since the average wait times for RnRC seem very high right now and we're short on time.

WWYD?

On your must-do list, priority FP+ is FoP, IMHO, as that is the line that will end up being the longest of all of the rides on your list. If your kids are "meh" on Toy Story, I wouldn't focus on it or build your day around it. I would try to get a FoP FP+ for sometime before noon (the earlier the better), get an EE FP+ and RD Nav'i. When you are done with your FP+ in AK, try to get the RnRC FP+ (if your preferred time isn't available, snag anything and then keep trying to modify). After RnRC, I would try to get TT or SE (Mission Space shouldn't be too hard to snag). I would not plan on two trips to EP as it will be a huge time suck. Your time would be better spent standing in a standby line, if need be, than traveling between DHS and EP more than once.

If you plan to RD AK for FoP, be sure to be at the tapstiles at least an hour before opening (not just going through security at that time). Walk quickly as the line builds very quickly and a few minutes can be a lot of people. If you plan to do Navi right after, again you need to be way up in the line for FoP as that line can build to 75 minutes plus in the first 30 minutes. EE probably won't be too bad of a line for the first hour.

Yup, this is our plan and we're going to Lyft over in the morning to ensure we get there in plenty of time. I'd consider us rope drop pros at this point, as we've done it in a number of parks around the world, most recently at Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea.

Just to report back, logged in this morning and the earliest SDD available was 7:35, so I skipped that and went to check FoP, where the earliest slot was 4:50, which also didn't work with my plans. so I went with option (3) and got TSM, RnRC and TOT for times between 1 and 4.
