Just putting this out there because I'm not 100% sure if I understand this correctly. I haven't downloaded the My Disney Experience (if that's the right term) app at all but on the Themes and Attractions board there is a thread that says in the ToA (updated in the past 48 hours or so) that if you purchase a package or have anything other than a paper ticket that you are automatically enrolled in the My Experience and also FP+.
I don't know when FP+ will actually go into effect but I personally would rather hold on to the regular FP as long as I can. I booked RO with the discounts and got my tickets through UT. I don't know the when or the speed of FP+ implementation so I don't know if I will be forced into it anyway with my August trip if they completely do away with regular FP by then. I thought I'd mention it in case people want the option of sticking with regular FP when FP+ goes live.
I think (just my thought, not any "proof") that that is why Disney is selling the spring and summer discounts with the option of a package with slightly discounted tickets. They want people to be automatically in the FP+ system to help the launch.
My thoughts, not gospel. Just wanted to help people be aware that taking the tickets portion of the discounts means they are automatically enrolled.
Also, it may have indicated that any RFID ticket may be enrolled but I am really not sure if I read that right. That seems weird to me. The poster on the Theme Parks forum used the words "paper tickets" for tickets that would not have to be enrolled.
Looking forward to being constructively corrected if necessary.
