My schedule requires me to visit Magic Kingdom on a day with an extra magic morning hour. Any advice on how to best use FP+? This is my first trip under the new system. Kid free trip!...well...other than me.

All depends on whether or not you plan to hop to another park later, stay put in that park all day, how long you plan to be there and possibly if you have plans for MSEP.

Traveling MLK weekend. Do not plan to park hop. Definitely want to do 7DMT...eat lunch at park....take break...perhaps come back for fireworks.

Book your FP later then, go first thing, ride what you can and get FP for when it's crowded

Is it realistic to ride 7 Dwarfs at Rope Drop on a morning EMH day. I assume no Fastpasses until the park officially opens. Perhaps get 2 rides in before 9 am

What I would do if I was you (and I am normally a big advocate for afternoon FP+) is arrive in time for rope drop and try to get in Mine Train first thing. if the wait built too much head to things like splash, thunder and pirates in the first hour. Then you can schedule your FP+ for things like 7Dmt and such later in the morning. Aim for as early as you can, 9:15 - 10:15, 10:15 - 11:15 and 11:15-12:15.

Schedule your last two FP+ near each other and try to get off of one and then go directly to the other.

For example:
7Dmt from 10:15-11:15
Enchanted Tales with Belle from 11:15-12:15

Ride 7Dmt at 11:10 so by the time you're done you just walk right next door.

After your last FP+ immediately find a kiosk and schedule your fourth fp+ for later in the day when you plan to return after your break. Once you schedule your fourth FP+ for the day, enjoy lunch then go back and rest up for the evening.

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to do :
7DMT (at least once)
Splash
Thunder
Space
Pirates
Haunted Mansion

All before you leave the park for your first break and have a FP+ for something else you want after lunch.

Not sure if this was just my "un" luck, but was there 10/26 and tried to get a 4th FP around 2 and there was nothing left but teacups, stitch, barnstormer and speedway. Wasn't looking for 7dmt or A &E but thought based on other reports I'd be able to get PotC , buzz or HM. They were gone. Now I've read I should have taken stitch and gone in and tries to switch to something different on the app. Just saying this b/c I found availability to be an issue. Based on this I might be more inclined to book FPs for when you plan on returning in the evening.

Please note this was a MNSSHH day so park closed at 7. I don't know if shortened hours played a part, but figured since typically less folks show up on party days we could get some. No such luck.

We did AM EMH at MK last Thursday and because we were entering on a CM gate pass we did not have FPs in advance.

We wanted to get to the park around 7:30 to be in the first wave heading to 7DMT but, as sometimes happens, the bus came as we were getting to the stop before 7 so we got to the park at about 7:15. That made it easy for us to take a spot near the rope on the right side of the train station. From that spot we were able to walk on to the mine train immediately and were out of the building before 8:15. Even then, though, the line looked pretty long and the posted time was something like 40 minutes. I suspect it would have been less than that, but if we had tried to ride twice it might have taken most of the rest of that first hour.

If I were you I would try to take advantage of that first hour to do a few more attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland with short waits and then head to the other side of the park when it opens at 9. Doing that, we were able to do Splash and Thunder Mountains and POC with no wait. We also stopped at a kiosk at 9 to get FPs to use later at Space (which was down when we went there right after 7DMT), HM and JC. We were planning to leave the park by 2 PM to go to Epcot for Food and Wine so we got our FPs for the 11-2 period. If we were planning to stay in the park all day, I might have gotten them for a little later.

My suggestion would be to make FP reservations for no earlier than 11. If you shoot for 11-12,12-1, and 1-2, you could use the third one at 1 and then start getting the additional ones one at a time for the rest of the day.

I would guess that the party would make a huge difference in FP availability. In addition to the regular guests getting FPs in advance, party guests are able to use their tickets to get FPs between 4 and 7 and that further depletes the supply.

If I were taking an afternoon break I would schedule my FPs for the late afternoon or early evening when I return. Do as much as you can before the waits get too long for your tastes and then have the 3 FPs for high demand attractions for later.

Yes, the party definitely impacts availability. We tried to get a 4th fp+ on 11/7, first MVMCP day, around 4:15 or so. The only things left were philharmagic, dumbo and small world, and they were all for the the final fp+ window of the day (5:30-6:30).

By contrast, on Sunday 11/9, with the park open until 11, we arrived at the MK around 2 PM after spending the morning at DAK. We wanted to get a FP for something to use between the FOF parade and a dinner reservation at 4:30 and were able to get something for BTMRR for 3:30-4:30.

We didn't get to mk on sunday until 9:05 or so..just in time to watch MSEP from the train station steps. We did 3 parks on Sunday..opened the day at DHS with our FP+, hopped to AK to see it at night (got there about 7:30, left around 8:30 - park closed at 8), then hopped to MK and left after the second MSEP. We were mainly there to see Wishes because our other MK days were MVMCP days, and we hopped to F&W after leaving MK those days. We didn't loom at FP+ availability when we got there

Good deal. In my scenario above, I was also looking for 6 FPs, but I tried for only 1 and still nothing of what I would consider a tier 2 was available. Curious....had you used your 3 fp's in the morning at AK? Did you try to get any other FPs for after dinner?

We did use FPs at DAK and didn't try to get anything after dinner. We wanted to see the castle lighting at 6:15 but didn't plan to stay too late because we had to get a 7 AM DME on Monday morning. So, after the castle lighting we just went to see the Talking Mickey, got some pictures on Main Street, and strolled around a little and took a spin on Dumbo because there was no wait at all.

I wanted to leave before the MSEP to get back and pack while I watched the Packers-Bears on TV, but by the time I got back to the hotel the score was already 28-0.
