Fox canceled Reunion :(

However, that quoted material raises very important considerations. If you're going to save one show, as it suggests, that list is a good yardstick for determining whether this specific show is the one you should be expending your energy on. I've seen all of the shows on that list, except for three, and there are some very good shows on that list, shows with good writing and acting, like The West Wing, Veronica Mars, and Night Stalker.

I wouldn't bother with Alias or Will and Grace. Both shows have run their course, and while I'd love to see another year of Sidney Bristow kicking butt, I'd rather see what Jennifer Garner can do next year if she wasn't subjected to Alias.

It never hurts to try, since this is a thread about Reunion and it is on that list I posted it.
Do you even like the show? If not, why are you spending so much energy on this thread? :confused3

I liked the premise of Reunion -- the execution definitely was the problem. I'd really like to see some decent actors put into a show based on the premise. I think that could really take off.

I participate in all television-related message threads I can find. I love television, all aspects of it. I think it is great to have all sides of all issues discussed in these discussion threads.

Even if attempts to get Fox or another network to complete the season and the mystery fail, there are other avenues.

As I mentioned earlier, Alien Nation ended after one season on a cliffhanger and was later resolved with a TV movie. In that time between, a comic book was produced based on what would have been the season two premiere script.

From a creative standpoint, I'm sure the producers would like to finish the series. Maybe not in comic book format, but perhaps as novels if they aren't able to finish it on television.

Most of the fans of the show would like to see how the mystery unfolds, that is why we are pushing for them to complete at least the first season.

I hope they do something, I NEED to know who killed Sam and why LOL

The producers are still working on Related, so that might be their focus for now.

it's fox's fault. They aired a couple episodes then it was on hold for four weeks of baseball, then a couple episodes then another hold. This happened at least 3 times. With a series where you need to see all the episodes it makes it impossible to follow. I liked the show alot. It reminded me of my hs/college years. I will be really upset if they at least don't finish out the mystery.

I agree whole-heartedly. I liked it as well ––*and had been skipping The OC to watch this one.

Anybody else remember "John Doe" with Dominic Purcell of "Prison Break"? Ended on a big ol' cliffhanger. And "Dark Angel"? I'm about ready to give up on Fox alltogether.

Oh, wait. American Idol starts next month... dang it. :badpc:

I loved "Dark Angel"! I was bummed when it disappeared. That show was way better than Reunion, and it still got cancelled. I don't know what it is about Fox shows :confused3

Fox is so weird, they keep on some shows that are awful and then don't even give others a chance!

Update on the petition, there are over 20,000 signatures on it so far.

Fox did this with Models Inc. a number of years back. This was the Melrose Place spin-off. They finished the season with a huge cliff hanger and then never picked it back up. No one ever found out what happened.

Did they already take this off???? We tuned in expecting it to be on tonight, and the OC is on instead for 2 hours. I checked next weeks schedule, and they are showing "shallow hal" next thursday.... Also, the "Reunion" section on the fox website is totally gone.
Did they just pull it all of a sudden this week? I thought they were at least going to do 13 episodes?
This was me and DH's favorite show!!
I am so mad!

I love Reunion too. According to Ausiello on TVGuide.com, there is no chance of Reunion going to the WB, so I think Kristen will spill the real killer. If she posts it on her message board, I will post here.

Thanks, I just went to TVguide.com, and it looks like last weeks episode (Dec.15) was the last episode.....
I am so disappointed.

Kristen on E! online posted the following on her message board:

I'm ... just ... I can't .... believe ... my ears ...

Fox Prez Peter Liguori just announced who was supposed to be Sam's killer ... officially killing any hope of another network picking up the show.

Guess everyone will know now: It was Sam's daughter, Amy.

However, I have it on high authority that at the last minute, right before the show was canceled, they were planning to change the killer to someone else, which I will tell you about in our next chat, along with the reason Jenna harbored such a hatred for Craig, and why he ended up in a wheelchair.

The bottom line is, I think that, sadly, tragically, it might be time to give up all hope on Reunion coming back anywhere.

I also asked David Janolari yesterday if the WB was interested in picking up Reunion and he said, "no."

Talk about a post-Globes buzz kill. This sucks.

ugh!
I had hopes that it would come back on another network!
I hope we can at least find out why she killed her....I knew I shouldn't have gotten Into another Fox show!

At least Point Pleasant was put out on DVD, so I was able to see how that ended.

I just found this online too:

Hey, it's Thursday night, and you were probably looking forward to watching Fox's murder-mystery show Reunion and trying to figure out yet again which of her high school classmates knocked off that too-smart-and-cute-for-her-own-good Samantha just in time for the 20th reunion. Hey, guess what? You can't. Fox canceled it and the nine episodes that aired are the only ones you'll ever see. Guess what else? The identity of the killer will never be revealed because Fox doesn't know.

Fox programming boss Peter Liguori admitted this week that Reunion producers started shooting the show without deciding who the murderer was. There were four different candidates, he said. And even though the whole basis of Reunion was that Samantha had been killed by one of her classmates, Liguori said that if the show had made it to the end, the murderer probably would have turned out to be the illegitimate daughter Samantha gave away for adoption.

To your understandable whaaaaat?, Liguori replies: ''We only said it was probably one of the classmates.'' And to your complaint about the lack of resolution, he has a comforting word: Tough. ''It is regrettable when a story ends before its time,'' Liguori said, while conspicuously not bursting into tears.

I just found this:

There is a Point Pleasant DVD, and that is the other show FOX canceled mid season and everyone was dying to see what happened...so maybe this could be in the future for Reunion?
Could be--my best friend loved the Fox show "Wonderfalls", which didn't last a whole season either. They released it on DVD, including shows that never aired. I just happened to see it one day in Target, and gave it to my friend as a birthday present. She was soooo happy!

Im rethinking if it will be released on DVD because i think Point Pleasant was already filmed, just not aired whereas Reunion was never finished, I think there are 2 episodes that were actually finished that they aren't going to show, but that still left us with something like 13 un-aired episodes.

Im still upset about this show...lol how pathetic am I???
