Hi everybody:wave2: We are almost at 65 days until our trip and I decided it would be fun to do a pre-trip report! Let me give you the details on who we are...
Me: :hippie: - 29 years old and a special education teacher for children with autism. First time at Disney was when I was 7 years old with my father and stepmother. I threw up in the cab on the way to the Contemporary because I was so excited

DBF: :cool1: - 28 years old and is in school to be a high school english teacher. First time at Disney was when he was 2 and he says he remembers going in a boat and 'going underwater' (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea)...

We live together in Long Island with our furbaby Minnie (see my avatar). Our first trip together was in 2005 after we had been dating for a little over a year. We were hooked ever since.

The trip: 8/10 - 8/18 at AKL Concierge level :yay: We are leaving on 8/7 from Long Island and driving down to Orlando with 2 stops, one in Richmond, VA for one nite and one in Myrtle Beach, SC for two nites. We plan on driving straight through on the way back :scared1:

For this pre-trip report I figured I would take a trip down memory lane and re-visit some memories from our past trips...so here we go.

July 22, 2005

We arrive at Coronado Springs Resort around 11am

Since we weren't able to get our room right away, we took advantage of the wonderful pool there

After a few hours, we were able to check into our room, Casitas bldg 3, room 3374

We got a *free* upgrade to a water view so I was VERY excited! Afterwards we headed to dinner at San Angel Inn in Mexico...I remember not really enjoying it and we haven't gone ever since. Then we decided to try to get our first ride in...here is me waiting in line, can you guess which ride it was?

Notice the look of sheer exhaustion on my face? We had been up for almost 18 hours! That was definitly a memorable first day there.

This year this is what our first day looks like:
6:30pm - Check into AKL
7:00pm - Explore resort, concierge lounge, grab quick dinner
Rest of night, relax, maybe grab a few drinks, settle in early for our first full day in the World!

Next up - a memorable moment from our 2006 trip where we did a split stay between ASsp and the Dolphin...

July 26, 2006

We arrive around 10pm (LATE) to ASsp and check in. We get a room on the first floor in the football section around the back (away from the noise!). It is a king bed accessible room (note: we do not need an accesible room however we did book a king bed room)

Here is the accessible bathroom

And we found this little guy waiting for us:

We don't really do much that nite because it is so late so we get to bed early to prepare for our first ride on Everest.

July 27, 2006

We arrive early at AK so we can immediately get FP's for this

The rest of the day we did all of our other favs at AK - Dinosaur, Kilamanjaro Safari, Bugs Life...

Up early today to check out and head over to the Dolphin! The CM's at ASsp were very helpful and took care of our luggage for us with no problems! It was also very easy to get to the Dolphin. We hopped on a bus to DHS (then MGM...) and then took the boat over to the Dolphin. We arrived at the Dolphin around 10:30 and checked in - to our surprise our room was ready!

The room overall was very nice however we had some problems with housekeeping. After we put all of our stuff (excluding luggage since it was in transit) in the room we went to Epcot. When we got back that day it seemed housekeeping cleaned the room AGAIN and threw away my papers with all our ADR numbers on it and other documents (nothing REALLY important) but I was not happy. After speaking to the housekeeping manager who was not helpful, I got connected with Disney dining who got my confirmation numbers and times for me so we were back on track.

Other problems with the Dolphin this trip...stay tuned for what happened on our last nite of this trip:eek:

Our second day we arrive in Disney THIS trip looks like this:

DHS for EMH morning
Relax at AKL mid-afternoon
Head to AK for dinner at Tusker House and EMH evening at AK

We have 61 days to go!! YEAH!!!
