Has anyone ever done this? I'm thinking about attempting it next trip. I'm finding different rules on different sites but the same things keep coming up.

1) Riding at least three E-ticket attractions at each park.
2) Meeting one or more character at each park.
3) Seeing a show or live entertainment at each park.
4) Having a meal or snack at each park.
5) Getting a picture in front of each park icon.
6) Use different modes of transportation to get to each park; bus, boat, and monorail.

Are there any other rules the rest of you follow?

Yes, this is a popular thing to do and there have been a number of threads on it.

When I did it my criteria was: three attractions each park, my picture taken with the park icon in the background, eat something in each park, and take each form of transportation (bus, boat, monorail). My route was bus to AK (had early EMH that day), bus to DHS, boat to EPCOT, monorail to MK.

It was a blast and I plan on doing it again at some point. Hope you have fun doing it as well.

To my knowledge there is no such thing as "official rules" for 4 parks in one day. I've done it twice and enjoyed it both times.

Our goals were:
- At least one ride in each park
- Photo with park icon in each park
- Hit all the major modes of transportation (same park order and transportation as poster above)
- Photo with a character that is common across the parks (did Donald Duck the first time, Mickey Mouse the second time)

I don't include food in the "challenge" because eating something for the sake of eating seems dumb to me. We eat when we get hungry, and neither of us needs the extra calories of eating for the sake of eating.

Now the Parkeology Challenge (all rides at WDW in a day) has very specific rules. We thought about trying it, but decided it was too extreme for us. We did do all attractions (rides and shows) in the MK in a day once.

I just Googled the Parkeology one. I won't be attempting that either. There are some rides I just don't like and I also wouldn't want to have to be constantly tweeting someone, I'm doing this for personal enjoyment.

We did it and had a blast. the plan was to do each park, three attractions at each park, take a bus, monorail and boat, and take a picture with the park icon. Because we had to change our park rotation due to getting FPS for SDD later in the day we didn't get to ride the monorail. Also we counted eating at EPCOT as our third attraction. We did get to ride FoP, TT & SDD.

My daughter and I completed the "4 parks 1 day challenge" last September. Our "rules" were as follows:
1) 5 attractions in each park, with 3 being tier 1 headliners
2) eat something in each park (snack in AK, TS lunch in HS, snack in EP, CS dinner in MK)
3) multiple photo-pass pictures in each park
4) use only Disney transportation (bus from Pop to AK; bus from AK to HS; boat from HS to EP; monorail from EP to MK; bus from Mk to Pop)
5) do some pin trading
6) have a magical day

...my DS and one of his friends [they both work at Stormalong Bay] did it yesterday for their birthdays!
