Four month old

I want to travel to Disney this May with my three 1/2 and four month old. My husband thinks it will be too hard to handle, but I have heard it can be rewarding with some good planning. Am I crazy to try this?

I've done it a couple of times. You will spend A LOT of time in the baby care centers--but other than that the four month old is easier to deal with than an 18 month old.

I've been to WDW five times in the last 6 yrs, but I can't remember if there are any rides that I could carry an infant on. Does anyone know of any? I have heard of the baby swap method, but I have never seen it done. Does it really work (or still exist)? Thanks for your help

You can carry an infant on any ride without a height restriction. I used a sling when my DD was little. The only ride I would probably skip is Toy Story Mania as it spins a lot and would be hard to hold a baby and play the game. A "baby swap" allows one parent to ride an attraction while the other waits with the baby. The waiting parent is given a fast pass with little wait so they can ride when the first parent is done and can watch the baby.

Babies can ride on every ride that does not have a height restriction. Yes, the baby swap still exists, but I don't think it is available on every ride. My youngest was 10 months old and when she went and had a blast. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law went last March with a 3.5 year old and a 4 month old and had no problems at all with taking a 4 month old with them. They didn't spend any time in the baby care centers either.

Honestly, after we had our second child, when she was...6 months...and the next year she was not quite 1.5 years...she stayed with her grandparents when we took only the older child. It was nice more relaxing and we could give the oldest our full attention. The youngest was requiring lots of naps at the time, so it was a lot easier on her, too.

Less then 2 weeks and we take a 7yr old 4yr old and 2mth old!

We think we are crazy but know we will have fun no matter what happens!
Take full advantage of the parent swap passes, not only do u get to go on in the fast pass line, u can take up to 3 others with u, so your 3.5yr old can go on with you as well.
Plus some of the other rides like rockin roller coaster and such all have single rider lines u pretty much zip through, so u can switch off and the lines are usually not very long. one can take the kiddies and one ride.
I don;t see why u would need to spend a lot of time in the care centers, I will be nursing my littlest, and don't plan on using them unless they are real convient, maybe just for diaper changes.
From everyone elses posts I have seen wraps or slings are helpful on the rides, I had one from when we went to DL when ds2 was 18 mths, and it worked great there when he just wanted to be held at the end of the day and was tired of the stroller.
Its one vacation that is designated to kids of all ages, so sit back and enjoy!

I would take four month old over a toddler any day! I took my youngest when she was 11 months, then again when she was 18 months, and boy was that second trip rough!

I wouldn't hesitate to take a baby to Disney World. They're a piece of cake compared to toddlers!

IMHO I think the smaller the child the easier they are. I say go-have fun. Maybe plan on taking a break in the afternoons for a nap ect and head back to the parks late afternoon early evening. That schedule always has worked great for us.
