:rotfl: Absolutely. I've often made a ride out to AC Moore (its closer than Michaels) b/c a basket or organizer is "exactly what I need to get this house in order!" :rotfl:

:rotfl2: That's right it's all part of the clean up!

OK, I need an opinion (although I think my mind is made up anyway.)

DS and BL were supposed to go to MILs today so DH and I could have a "date day." Then, BL was going to come home, but DS was going to stay for a sleepover. (MIL and FIL are both off tomorrow.) FIL just called and poor MIL got the stomach flu that's going around and has been up all night sick. So, needless to say, the kids are staying home. But, apparently FIL said "maybe the kids can come over tomorrow instead." (I'm home on Mondays, so its not like I need them to go there. Plus, I like spending whatever time I can w/ them.) But, normally, I'd say "no problem." I know FIL doesn't get to spend as much time w/ them as he'd like. (We do see them a few times/month though, so he's not deprived either.) But, especially w/ all the sickness we've had around here, I don't think its a good idea for DS3 and the baby to be hanging out w/ MIL one day after she's had the stomach flu. So, I said no. DH is kinda' pissed. (He hates conflict and, like all men, can't stand to tell his mother no.) But, I really think I need to hold my ground. DH and I are both completely out of sick and personal time for the whole year! :scared1: Plus I just don't want the kids to get sick... again. MIL and FIL have a tendency to think I'm always being over protective, but I really don't think I'm being unreasonable. Am I? I already said I'll make every effort to get them some kid time soon since they mised today.

Your not being over protective your being smart. That virus that is going around last for 24-48 hours, it seems it misses very few people who are exposed to it. So you FIL we most likely be next. Why would you want to expose your kids to that??? Both you and DH are almost out of sick time, even if you were a SAHM why take the chance on your kids getting sick feeling horrible, going to the dr's etc. In addition you are off today, as you said you like to spend as much time as possible with them. So if you 'throw out' the being over protective about them getting sick. If you have the day off that you can be with your kids then just b/c you had to cancel the previous night you want to be with your kids. Mmm a mom who wants to be with her kids, and the problem with that would be??? So hoping you are enjoying your day off with your kids:goodvibes.

Afternoon. I caught some kind of horrible cold and spent all of yesterday in bed. A little better today but I feel like I'm ready for a nap.
lighttech, for what it's worth, you're making the right decision not letting the kids to visit the in-laws. You all have been fighting the sicknesses that have been going around for so long that you don't want to risk a relapse at any time. Sure, your DH might be pi**ed right now but when nobody get the stomach bug, he'll be thankful. DD7 had that stomach bug on Friday and it took her until today just to feel normal. She did not want to do anything yesterday....including playing the Wii (I knew she was really sick then  )

 hope your feeling better, so much crud going around this year. Is it spring yet???? Oh yeah then we'll all have sinus infections from all the pollen.

OK, I'm getting into the game a little late (for some reason, I couldn't get on the Dis until now--it seems it was running really really slow) BUT, here's my $0.02, FWIW.

Lighttech, you are 100%, absolutely positively RIGHT!!! NO WAY should your boys be going to Grandma's the day after she's got the stomach bug! She doesn't need the stress when she's sick, you don't need the stress of worrying that they'll catch it from her, and the kids don't need to get sick. DH needs to get over it, get a clue, and get real. The needs of the kids come first. #1. Grandma is a big girl--she'll get over it!

NOW, who's a Hard-a**??? :lmao:

Well, Mom has my suitcase for rehab, along with the food for breakfasts and lunches while I'm there. My suitcase for the hospital is pretty much packed, just need to toss in a couple things. My BFF fixed my mini laptop so it will work at the hospital and rehab. Now I just have to take care of the trillion and one things that need to be done before I have this surgery! But thankfully, I'm feeling about 99% back to my normal self. No more sickies! So I am ready to DO THIS THING!!!

My kids went to the NJ Devils game tonite. I got to see them on TV! it was so cool.

Doesn't MK come back this week??

I think she was due back the 15th, so she should be checking in soon.
Very cool, about you kids and the Devil's game DH watched that game, and a few others:rotfl2:, We have NHL Center Ice thats the sport he loves to watch.
Okay seems like everything is falling into place with the surgery and you have you lap top up and working so you won't be far:goodvibes.

Happy President's Day All, Did actually kick *** in the basement yesterday, gosh it's amazing what you have and think why do I have this.
About 60% of the basement is finished, then we have large storage area's thats where the problem comes in:eek: what's behind the doors:scared1: . When you can barely get into the storage area:scared1: It b/c's so easy to just 'put it in there' so though it was time consuming (all day, I quit at 5:30). Glad I got it done, you can actually get to things on the shelfs. So that was my big exciting Sunday:rotfl:.

whgrn will be thinking of you.
I'm wondering where's M&N and racetrack18kb also. Even I heard about the crash. I even had my popcorn ready. popcorn::

Track Smack!!!:cheer2:
Track Smack!!!:cheer2:

We wanna read some track smack!

Happy President's Day Ladies:

It's Family Day here so everyone is off. I didn't get to watch the race but saw the crash on the TV in the steakhouse where we were having dinner...didn't realize it was Junior that took out Kyle...the smack should be good whenever M&N & Racer make it on here.

Lighttech you are definite right!

My kids went to the NJ Devils game tonite. I got to see them on TV! it was so cool.

That's great that your kids could go to a game...it's pretty well impossible to get ticket to an NHL game here...and cost a fortune!!

Magic Kitty....where are you???

The ex gets tickets through work--they have season tix I think. The seats they had would have been about $250 each, since they include food, parking, the works. He gets them free. Wish they were for the Yankees instead!

Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!!! (sorry, no nifty smilies today...)

Just have a sec, but wanted to wish Whgrn the best! I hope all goes well and I'll be thinking of you!

So, just got kind of a crappy call from DH. Apparently, his boss has "asked" him to take a 10% paycut. I'm trying very hard to be positive. I know we'll get by, things have been very tight, but we've still been able to continue to put some money in savings, etc. I'd hate to stop that right now, but we can if we have to. And, so many people are so much worse off than this situation, I'm thankful that its just 10% (knock wood.) That's actually the nervous part. Its a small company, and I don't want this to be a sign of things to come. So, DH and I agreed that he really needs to step up the job search. Not exactly the time to be looking, but we'll do what we can and this is something on the "things we can do" list.

So, anybody know any people in IT in the Philadelphia area that might need a fabulous new employee? :rotfl:
Seriousy though, I did tell DH I'll pull out all the stops and network wherever I can! Why not the DIS? I know at least a few of you are from PA and the surrounding areas! DH is capable, dedicated, smart and quite sexy if I do say so myself!;)

(How am I doing w/ being positive and fairly calm? I'm trying to turn over a new leaf.)

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you Wendy!

Again. Long time no chat. I read all of the posts and couldn't begin to comment on all of them. It was my fifth week of being sick. With this three day weekend off from work, just today I have started to feel a little better. It's a miracle, only a cough once in awhile and not blowing my nose every hour on the hour. Please let it be done.

whgrn~ :goodvibes heading your way for Wednesday :grouphug: From all of us.

lighttech~ Good for you keeping the little ones home. BTW "postive" looks good on you!

racetracl18kb~ Hope you feel better.

magikitty~ Come back safe.

disney54us~ Organizing. That's the ticket.

Oh Lord! Tell the poor girl not to be too hard on herself. I once hit a parked car... and I was 22! (The wheel slipped as I was pulling into a parking space and I dinged the door on the car in the next spot. I felt SO bad too. Number one, the poor owner had just gotten the car a week before. -It was at work, so I was able to have security look up the license plate so I could contact the owner- And, it was only a small ding, but I managed to do it right in btw 2 panels, so they BOTH had to be refinished... wound up costing me $500.)

Ouch! I know that had to really stink! And of COURSE it was between 2 panels. :rotfl: Murphey's Law is like that. ;)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Disney54us is back! :yay: Sorry everyone was ill. :flower3:

Pepperw23 a  for your DD, accidents happen. My sister ran into the garage door. Mom had a neighbor come over to straighten and brace it so it would open and my dad wouldn't find out. Of course there was a huge gouge in the door, hard not to notice. :lmao:

So I take it that was the first thing your dad noticed? :lmao: My DS threw a baseball through the window once when he was like 8 or so. We tried so hard to put off telling DH until the next morning, but it was the very first thing he saw when he drove up. :rotfl:

Late, but just wanted you to know I think you did the right thing. The flu is noting to sneeze at!...no pun intended ha ha. :rotfl:

I leave Tuesday night to go into NYC. We'll stay over at the hospital's hotel so we can be there bright and early Wednesday for surgery. (BFF is going in with me) I'll be in the hospital until Saturday, when they'll move me to rehab. I'll be there from Saturday until the following Friday or Saturday.

OK, time for "Here Kitty"!!!:rotfl:

I just wanted to wish you the best! Please please keep us posted. Call me if you just need to talk because you are bored (I am PM'ing my cell number). Keep us posted. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Wow, that's rough. But it's getting more and more common. I know lots of folks who are getting "furloughs" either one day a week, or for several weeks straight, etc. I think everyone is glad just to have a job. I'm afraid it's only going to get worse, as the government figures out that the Spendulous package did NOT stimulate the economy. I hope DH doesn't have to deal with more than a 10% pay cut.

Racer must be sick. I just knew she would have the first post here to knock Jr. Well, I will go first...
I was shocked after the truck race. I actually agreed with KB.
1.gif
He said he was an idiot. Yes, he actually called himself an idiot! I almost called racer.

You didn't hear from me sooner because I'm at mom's every weekend.

1.gif
Now, I'll just wait...I know Jr will be blamed for wrecking lots of cars (most notably #18) but I don't care. He didn't do it on purpose...they should just stay out of his way!

Glad to see you back Disney54us. Hope things go better for you now.

Whgrn---99% better is very good. After surgery, it'll be 100!

Lighttech---Just remember, YOU are the Mommy. Your #1 job is to keep those little guys safe and well. You can just tell them to kiss the back end of a donkey. :woohoo:

Thought you all could use a jump start to your morning...Sun's out but cold here...the s word was used but change to rain...

Warning!!! Graphic Mom Content!!!

Well, I almost got a chance to respond, then I hear DS3 say "Yuck. I have poop all over me." I'm extremely tired, and a little cranky anyway, so the 1st thing that runs thru my head is... well, at least he can tell me. Then, it registers that he doesn't wear diapers anymore (and hasn't fora while.) How in the HE double hockey sticks did he get poo on himself?

I look over and he literally has it ALL OVER his pajamas. I get up and look at BL, and he has exploded out of the top of his diaper while DS was playing w/ him. There is poop all over DS, all over BL, all over the pillow BL was playing w/ and all over the blanket he was on. (Thank goodness I had the blanket down, or I'd be cleaning the area rug right now.)

So, I manage to plop BL clothes and all into his plastic baby tub and clean up DS. Then, I carry the baby tub w/ BL and all his stuff in it into my big tub and begin the cleansing process!

Holy cr*p! Literally! :lmao: :lmao: What a way to start the day. I hope it doesn't go down hill from here. :rotfl: I can't believe I'm laughing, but as all you moms know, the only way to get thru motherhood is w/ strength, perserverance, a lot of coffee, and a HUGE sense of humor.

Anyway, I still have to figure out how to clean the tub, and BL is a bit fussy after the ordeal, so I gotta run. But, I had to share w/ someone so I could put it behind me and move on w/ the rest of my day. Thanks for listening! :cutie:

... I still can't believe that just happened...

OK, got everything settled down... I'll clean the tub later when everyone is occupied. But, I don't remember much of what I was going to say originally.

Whgrn - Thanks. I know things are "tough all over." Like I said, we'll get by, I just hope that the paycuts save the company, so this is the worst of it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

[/img] Now, I'll just wait...I know Jr will be blamed for wrecking lots of cars (most notably #18) but I don't care. He didn't do it on purpose...they should just stay out of his way!

I was really glad that the commentators mentioned that Jr. is usually a man of his word and if he says it wasn't on purpose than it wasn't. I believe that is true. He certainly has gotten in trouble for speaking his mind in the past, and if he was being too aggresive, I think he would have admitted it. Also, I don't know if you caught it, but it sounded like he didn't realize that Vickers was also fighting for the lucky dog. He thought he was a lap ahead, so I'm sure that made a difference in his decision making. He probably assumed Vickers wouldn't be racing him so hard.

Thought you all could use a jump start to your morning...Sun's out but cold here...the s word was used but change to rain...

Certainly could! Could you make that cup a VAT instead?!?:rotfl:

Sorry for everyone I missed, like I said, I just don't remember anymore. I'm having a very foggy day today.

Lighttech - I hear ya sister. :headache: Exploding diapers are no fun. We just went through something similar at our house when the boys had the tummy flu. Each one had an "accident" and I was throwing kids in the tub at 2AM, washing sheets or just throwing stuff out if it was too bad. I had to go out the next day and get all new mattress protectors, pillow protectors, etc. Luckily we still had those on for the kids - just in case. :thumbsup2 Saved us from buying a whole new mattress. Bleached down the bathtub, bathroom, and kids room after that. WHAT A MESS!!!

Thanks for the coffee M&N!

Whgrn - Isnt today the day? Thoughts and prayers are with ya.

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!!!

Sounds more like a poopy (or is it spelled poopie?--not in dictionary. :rotfl: ) day to me. It definitely deserves one of my favorite smilies---
5.gif
It's times like this that I am sooo glad I'm not a mommy. I teased my friend when I first babysitted for her baby that she had better hurry home because I don't do poop---but of course I had to. Thankfully not nearly that bad. I hope DS will still play with BL!

And thanks for sticking up for JR. I agree that he is honest in his mistakes. Going that fast, if Vickers slowed up just a bit, JR could have bumped him too. I know Racetrack will add her 2 cents when she comes on. I guess her house is sick too.
