Last year on vacation we spent all our time at Universal. We were going to go to the MNSSHP, but went to buy tickets last minute and they were sold out (in September!). My son and I were greatly disappointed and my husband felt guilty as he was the one who pushed to hold off buying tickets (rainy weather). So we decided we would go back to Orlando this year to make sure and do the MNSSHP. However, we previously decided no more full weeks out of school. So, we had to work around fall break. In addition, vacations are arranged by seniority and I was going to have to be creative with getting a stretch of days off.
Not really wanting to deal with FP+ but not wanting to do Universal again we also decided we would do Halloween Horror Nights.
Then, the kid specifically requested SeaWorld. He's never been and it's been years since I've been, so we decided we would go during the weekend to take advantage of their Halloween Spooktacular.
Then, I was able to do some vacation switching with a coworker and able to get an earlier flight, giving us more time to arrange an extra day... so, we have decided to go over to Tampa and experience Howl O Scream.
I love Halloween and we are all night owls, so the idea of no rope drop and late nights is perfect.

Seriously, don't go if you don't like being scared! Some of it is really intense. I love being scared but the friend I went with found it to be too much. A group of teen girls was ahead of us in one of the walkthroughs and there were tears by the end
This was years and years ago now but I wouldn't think it would be too different, in fact the effects have probably improved! I'm hoping to go back some time!
