You guys had such a great time at BB! Visions of things to come for me - someday, when Leo's big enough for the "real" slides.

How did the girls like wearing their rashguards? I keep thinking it would be a good ide for Leo, but it seems like it might feel so hot.

V- just my 2 cents.. my DS6 LOVEs a rash guard. He wears one pretty much all summer (just b/c his cousin wears one- so it's cool;) )- and we live in NC- very hot and humid!! my DD9 wears one too when she is boogie boarding- and she is very hot natured so they must not be too hot!!

BTW Jo- i love your report!! DD is begging to go to either BB or TL whenever we go back!! she is much more adventurous than the rest of us!!

V, the girls both like wearing their sun tops, less cream they need to put on, also as they get older they're more aware of the sun, Jess asked to wear hers :thumbsup2

We had a nice well earnt rest out of the sun and about 4pm we headed to the front desk to pick up our tickets before catching the bus to MK, we decided to take the leisurely boat over to Fort Wilderness where Hoop dee doo review was being held. I never realised how much water there is out there, we passed loads of little speed boaters and most of them waved as they whizzed past. We were lucky to get a seat as several people had to stand!!!

We were there so early so we had a walk around, we found stables with about 6 horses in, these were huge horses not sure if they’re used in parades, but they were beautiful some had their tails all plaited. We were trying to find the petting farm but I’ve since found it’s gone, well they need to take the signs down then :headache: We came across a blacksmith and he was reshoeing a horse so we watched for about 10 minutes, it was really interesting how he shaped the metal, heated it up cooled it down etc I don’t think the girls have ever seen this done before and they couldn’t believe it didn’t hurt the horse when he hammered it on :rotfl2: BTW it’s not a good idea to wear flip flops here :scared:

So we go and check in and have the obligatory photo taken, I wish this automatically went onto your photo pass! We found a cool spot to wait, the girls did a bit of pin trading and we just people watched. Well you can’t believe the scene we saw, this mum started shouting at her kid, dragged her off threatening her with everything under the sun. They returned and only about a few minutes later it happened again but with smacking too  but this time we didn’t see them return, not sure if they ever went into the show, whatever my kids had done I wouldn’t waste 2 TS credits each :rotfl:

We eventually get called and our seats (category 3 all I could get even though I booked 180 days out!) were upstairs but they were great :thumbsup2 We all sat in a row along the balcony and the stools swivelled so you could eat then turn around to watch! When we got there salad and corn bread were waiting for us, not too sure about the corn bread :rotfl:

Here’s Felicia waiting for it to start.

Our waiter swiftly bought us our drinks and the show started. The actors came out with huge whoops and squeals it was really high energy, there was singing and dancing and silly jokes. They performed a silly song about ribs and chicken (well I think :lmao:) and our waiter came and literally slammed our food down, OMG I nearly had a heart attack :rotfl2: The food was served in pails and it was pretty tasty, you could have extras of any thing, we got some extra chicken which had loads of meat on :thumbsup2 Then it was the main part of the show, it was all clean innocent fun and even though we weren’t American we understood most of it :)

P1000728.jpg

P1000734.jpg

P1000738.jpg

They serenaded anniversary couples, honeymooners etc and sung birthday greetings. And before we knew it the waitresses were also on the stage singing about strawberry shortcake! Now this dessert was totally not what I was expecting, here strawberry shortcake is a cookie base (the shortbread that is dessert in the fish and chip shop in Epcot) covered in cream and strawberries, I was really looking forward to this and then got some type of cake  well it was OK but not as nice as ours ;) :lmao:

Even though we were sat upstairs we were still very much part of the show, the actors came upstairs too. After dessert washboards were handed out and the girls had a wail of a time playing these and twirling their napkins.

P1000746.jpg

I was so worried David wouldn’t enjoy HDDR but I needn’t have as he said it was the best thing so far :goodvibes

We grabbed the first bus we saw which was to MGM so we could transfer but just as we were leaving FW a girl near us suddenly screamed and her and her dad jumped off the bus, the rest of her family told us that she had taken out her retainer to eat her food and had left it there  The bus driver was really kind and waited and within a couple of minutes they were back and luckily they’d found it just as the CM’s were about to chuck it all in the trash!!! The whole bus cheered :lmao:

We did a quick transfer and were soon headed back to CSR as the girls were on a mission. Tonight was the premiere of HSM2 and we weren’t getting it here until September 21st so they HAD to see it :rotfl2: We made it back in time and I went off to the PM to refill our mugs, but on the way had a quick relax in one of the hammocks, there was a man playing the steel drums and as I swung looking into a cloudless sky the music floated across the lake, maybe I was starting to like this resort after all :cloud9: After about 10 mins I went and refilled our mugs and used 1 CS credit on 2 croissants and an OJ, yes I know what a bad deal that I could have gotten a steak etc but we just couldn’t eat all the food and this way we had breakfast ready in our room for tomorrow, so it worked for us :thumbsup2

The girls absolutely loved HSM2 and I think over the whole trip we must have watched it about 3 or 4 times!!!!

Next day here!

We saw the HSM 2 premiere at Disney World also! My DDs were SOOO happy because we don't have cable TV at home so no telling when they would get to see it otherwise. It was the first day of our trip. We were staying at the Contemporary at that point and we had reservations at 6:20 at Kona. I wasn't sure about getting back to the room by "curtain time" at that rate, so we went over to the Poly at about 5:30 and we were seated within 5 minutes! We had plenty of time for the meal. This was our first time there; in fact our first time at a Disney table service restaurant that was not a buffet, and we really enjoyed it. (Well, one of my DDs was not keen on the entree choices, but the dessert made up for it.)

That was a really special start to our vacation!

What kind of strawberry shortcake was that? In these, there parts it's made with cake...like pound cake or angel food...not a cookie!

HOOPPEDYDOOPPEDDYDOO sounds like a lot of fun. Do you think my kids are too young for it? Did they serve any kiddo style food?

What a nice bus driver AND bus load of WDW guest...for not spittin a fit, while the family go the retainer back. I think those things are pricey!

I never realised how much water there is out there, we passed loads of little speed boaters and most of them waved as they whizzed past.
It's quite pretty isn't it?

BTW it’s not a good idea to wear flip flops here :scared:
And you know this from experience?

I think she's faced the wrong way!

Cute!

What a great evening. HDDR looks like great fun, but I just don't think Jimmy will "get" it yet. I think we will wait until he is older and better able to understand it, KWIM.....

So, what'd you do the next daypopcorn::

Cool that you had some relaxation.:cool1:

My kids had to watch HSM2 that first night too.We were visiting my inlaws and their cable went out so we left my DH and went home to watch.:goodvibes

Great update. i am not sure if I would like the show. who knows. As for the woman with the child I do not see hitting anyone. And I say good for her for taking the kid out. Who cares about the money if the kid was acting up take them out. Ok I got the flame retardant suit on now.

Seems like it was a nice night. i enjoyed HSM2 and I enjoy the soundtrack still on my ipod. :)

BTW it’s not a good idea to wear flip flops here :scared:
I just keep hearing the one character in Four Weddings and a Funeral saying, "Mind the cow pats." :rotfl2:

We eventually get called and our seats (category 3 all I could get even though I booked 180 days out!) were upstairs but they were great :thumbsup2
I actually think these would be my preference - a bit removed and a good vantage point! :thumbsup2

And I grew up with something kind of in-between the two - more of a biscuit, I'd say, not sweet or cakey. :confused3 But LOTS of cream and strawberries :cloud9: HDDR's version doesn't sound too tantalizing to me, either.

I was so worried David wouldn’t enjoy HDDR but I needn’t have as he said it was the best thing so far :goodvibes
Little did he know the "fun" that was yet to come! :lmao:

...on the way had a quick relax in one of the hammocks, there was a man playing the steel drums and as I swung looking into a cloudless sky the music floated across the lake, maybe I was starting to like this resort after all :cloud9:
Now THAT sounds lovely! :cloud9:

I haven't been to HDDR since 1998, I think I need to go! It was pretty much booked at 180 days, when do they start taking ressies? I think Kelly (my goddaughter) would love this type of thing, she willbe 8 when we go.

Isn't the ride over to FW a nice boat ride, sometimes just to get a break from MK, it's a nice quiet way to cool off.

Glad you got some ME TIME on the hammack, good for you!

HDDR sounds like a blast!

That was really nice of the bus driver to wait for the girl and her family to retrieve the retainer.

Sounds like you had a nice relaxing time in the hammock while the girls watched the premiere.

Sounds like you all had a great time at HDD! We love it, too!
That's a bummer about the shortcake. When we ate there last year it was a a yellow cake-type thing.
What a nice way to end the night....relaxing in a hammock on a nice evening in WDW.:cloud9:

My word you're all quick :rotfl2:

That was a really special start to our vacation!
Happy kids make a happy holiday :rotfl2: :goodvibes

What kind of strawberry shortcake was that? In these, there parts it's made with cake...like pound cake or angel food...not a cookie!
Jen it was a cake smothered in cream and strawberries, nice but not what I expected :rotfl2:

HOOPPEDYDOOPPEDDYDOO sounds like a lot of fun. Do you think my kids are too young for it? Did they serve any kiddo style food?
I can't remember seeing any kids there as young as Tink but I'm sure lil diz man would love it :thumbsup2 Apparently you could ask for mac and cheese or chicken strips!

And you know this from experience?
Luckily no, just bark and stuff :rotfl2:

I hate watching those things! And I hate when people talk about me slapping my kids up on the DISboards too.
Whoops sorry DM ;) :rotfl2:

I think she's faced the wrong way!
She was posing for the camera silly!!!!!

So meeting your DIS friends was not top on his list?
No :rotfl2:

It was :goodvibes

My mom makes strawberry shortcake and she makes it with sweetened biscuits. I'm not a big fan of it. Gimme key lime pie anyday!
