Well I thought it was about time I started this TR as Ive now been back all of 2 days If you want some light reading check out my Pre TR here!
OK some quick introductions ..
Me, Jo a 34 year old SAHM who loves WDW and is totally addicted to the DIS boards, just ask my DH This was my sixth trip.
DH, David a 35-year-old PGA Golf Pro. He is gradually coming over to the Disney side and cant believe how much he enjoys it.
I have 2 DDs Jess, 11 and Ellie, 9. Youll find out all about these 2 as my TR progresses
This trip was our second as a family.
D Day was Monday 13th August 2007 and we were going for a fortnight. We stayed at CSR and were lucky enough to have free dining. All ADRs were made in February, Touring plans were sorted, thanks to a little help from TGM, we were all set to start our 2 weeks of fun
The alarm went off about 6am, although DH and I had been awake for a while, those adverts where the adults are more excited than the kids are so true We managed a quick brekkie and shower before the taxi arrived at 7am. We had to take the back route to Gatwick Airport as the M25 was at a complete standstill but we still made good time and went straight to Virgins bag drop as Id already checked in online
Pretty uneventful security checks and we were soon chilling in the departure lounge browsing the shops etc. The DDs and I have a tradition of going to the Body Shop and smearing our arms in all the body butters so we smell, well, imagine about 5 strong scents on our arms and be thankful youre not sat next to us. Well would you believe the staff were hanging around the samples, maybe they knew we were coming So smelling normal we headed off to the gate and the flight was all on time We watched several films including Shrek 3 and Blades of Glory. Lunch was meatballs and rice and tea was a yucky sandwich. We also received an ice cream during the films
The announcer was hilarious he was saying about a passenger on board who had a serious nut allergy so could everyone keep their nuts covered, well the whole plane was in hysterics He then went on to say about no smoking on board or in the airport and if any one found where they could smoke could they please let him know as he was dying for a smoke Lastly as we were landing he said due to US regulations no dairy products, meat products or big bags of maltesers are allowed to be taken into the country so must be left with him!!!!!
So we safely arrived at MCO pretty much on time at 3pm, we headed to the passport control which always takes ages, get to the front of the queue when Ellie announces she feels sick, yeah right, so we tell her just to sit down and what do you know shes sick all over the floor Now this is where I definitely become mother of the year, there are soooooo many people behind us that I find a bag and the lady behind gives me tissues rather than take her to the toilets, I know Im a wonderful mum arent I but hey we didnt lose our place in line
Big excitement for David when we spotted Nick Faldo, a top English Golfer, collecting his luggage too!!!!
We found the ME desk pretty easily and I joined the queue of about 10 people, it moved pretty quickly too and everyone was getting Have a magical day, well guess who got a have a nice day The bus was waiting and as we were getting on the CM said How are you doing i the Joey way to the girls, I thought that was slightly weird! We were the first stop and there were only 2 people in front at check in. We didnt get what we asked for but the next building along 7B in the Ranchos it was right near the bus stop and our quiet pool and only a few minutes walk from the dig site pool, so it was OK. Why is it though that the first try at finding your room you always take the long route First thing to do after travelling for over 12 hours is a swim and oh my, how good does that feel Food was the next stop and although we had the DDP we still shared 2 cheese burgers and fries as it was past midnight UK time so we were struggling to stay awake! Back to the room to find our luggage still not there so the girls went to sleep in their birthday suits This was after Jess had her turn at feeling ill!!!! The bags finally arrived at 8.45pm so I could finally crash too, so I just missed the 9pm that I was aiming for
Up next, how early can we wake up
