Here is some instructions Carioca put up on a link on vmk pal. I found this very helpful. Not sure if you guys have seen it yet, sorry if you have. I would just like to thank Carioca for this wonderful program it is amazing. He changed my vmk experience!
Here is the instructions-
VMK Pal stores all of your pictures on your computer, not on the internet. So even when VMK closes, your pictures will remain on your computer. VMK Pal keeps these pictures in a special folder. Although you can leave them in the folder, you may want to move them into a more accessible folder on your computer.

On Windows 2000 and XP, the pictures are stored in:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Windows Username]\Application Data\VMK Pal\PicturesOn Windows Vista, the pictures are stored in:

C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\Application Data\VMK Pal\PicturesThe pictures are saved as PNG (Portable Network Graphic) files, which are editable by most graphic programs, including Windows Paint. They are saved with a filename which includes the date and time the picture was taken. For example: "VMK-2008-04-13-16-30-343.png" was taken on April 13, 2008 at 16:30:343. For each ".png" file, there is also a ".thumb" file which is a smaller, thumbnail version which is displayed in the photo album. The ".thumb" files are only used by the VMK Pal photo album and do not need to be saved.

One you find the VMK Pal pictures folder, you may copy all of the .png files to a folder of your choosing.

I had this problem at first also the way I fixed it was by going to

Computer

then at the address bar at the top I pasted in

C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\Application Data\VMK Pal\Pictures

and put in my username so:

C:\Users\Chris\Application Data\VMK Pal\Pictures

Then hit enter and it took me right to the folder.

you can usually find your username if you click start it should be up at the top its usually your name.

If that one way didn't work try taking out the last part so it only goes to the VMK pal section from there you can access the pictures so

C:\Users\Chris\Application Data\VMK Pal

That might work remember this is for vista if you have XP you have to follow a different link.

For those of you that have vista, have you tried searching for .png files?

Just search all files and folders and in file name type *.png

The star is a "wild card" and will pull up any file name with that extension.

c:\users\USER\AppData\..

On mine it's d:\users\USER\AppData\..

Replace the letter with whatever drive is your main.. (whatever drive has the windows folder)

The folder may be hidden, so you have to be able to view hidden files..

guess with vista you need to search a little bit, but i did finally find it
