My mom and I went to a Christmas show this afternoon (wasn't that good, but oh well). We got there about an hour and a half early since we didn't know where the theater was or where parking was or any of that. So, we decided to kill a couple of hours in the shops nearby.
One of those was an antique shop. My mom loves antique shops, so I knew she'd have fun.
Well, this particular one was packed to the gills with stuff. Lots of jewelry, books, and china.
One display was 50% off, and I was just browsing through the rings there when I saw one I had to show my mom. As soon as she saw it, she said we had to ask about it. Had the lady come open the cabinet for us and checked out the ring. It was $12 after the discount!!
Sold!
So... what did I get?
A "classic Mickey" ring!!
No idea how old it is, and it barely fits (it's a bit big), but it's still neat.
My mom couldn't believe that in this packed store, I find a Mickey item.
They also had a Mickey watch that wasn't in great shape or I might have gotten it, too.
I also fell in love with two other rings -- one amethyst and one Australian topaz, but both of those were out of my price range. I'm considering going back for the topaz one, though, because it was really neat and appropriate for me. It had a tiger walking over the gem.
We'll see. The real prize for a Disney lover like me was the Mickey ring.
