We're booked for Sept 25 to Oct 4/09 for our DD's 1st trip and just found out I'm pregnant & am due Nov 13, that's cutting it quite close. :scared1: So I've been to WDW once before at xmas when I was 3 months pregnant & it was fine. Even the 24 hr drive there was manageable.
DH is suggesting we wait & go when new baby is a few months old but I really want to go before so I can enjoy all these moments w/ our DD. So my question is would you even consider going that pregnant, especially w/ the long drive? (flying is not an option). Would you rebook after I have new baby or would you rebook for an earlier date. The earliest we can think about going would be closer to the end of Aug, but I worried about labour day crowds. I am so torn up w/ the question of what to do! I wish my DH could get time off in June but oh well.

Do you remember how you were at 7 months with your daughter? I went when I was 7 months but I had a fairly easy pregnancy. We just walked slow, took breaks, and I made sure to stay hydrated! We also hit up the ice cream carts every day :)

I think you'll be fine, but you know your body better than anyone!

Well, that is a tough one. It's just so hot in August, isn't it? Won't that be worse than being 6 more weeks pregnant? I hate the heat, so that's what I'd lean toward. Just something to think about. I've been there for 2 of my 4 pregnancies and did fine. Just take it easy and take care of yourself.

It will be very hot in there, but a friend of mine travels at the end of August all of the time and she said the crowds aren't bad because a lot of the schools in the south are back in session already.

Been there, done that!

I went when I was 7 months prego with my daughter...in September! Yes, it was hot, yes my feet hurt, and yes, I had to pee every 30 minutes. But I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

I really had a great time. We took our time, took lots of breaks, and really got to enjoy the things we usually miss when we are in a hurry. I have pictures of us in front of the castle, holding my belly, which I consider some of the best pictures we've ever taken.

So I say do it! You won't regret it :thumbsup2

Thanks ladies, I'm in! I think maybe we will bump it up a few wks so we arrive just after labour day to avoid the crowds.
I had a pretty crappy pregnancy the 1st time around, but I know better this time & will not gain the 60 pounds I did last time :upsidedow

Keep in my your out of country health insurance only covers you up to a certain point in pregnancy. I believe most are 32 weeks. So if you had to go into the hospital or early labour you would not be covered. $$$$.

I'm about 7 months now and I feel great, I'd do Disney!! Just drink lots of water and rest and stay out of the sun the best you can!

Another thought I had was if I cancel more than 7 days prior to my vacation, isn't it only a $50 cancellation fee?

I'd ask your doctor. You are at increased risk for blood clots, especially if you are driving 24 hours!

This is true. We were going to drive cross country (for a move) at 8 mo pregnant (with my first) and the doctor said to make sure to stop every 2-3 hrs (no problem, I had to pee LOL) and to seriously, map out where hospitals were along the way LOL.

I ended up flying and DH drove the car.

Rent a wheelchair for yourself, don't do all the walking. Walk a little, ride a little.

Maybe move the date up by a week or two.

Thanks ladies, we are def looking into moving the date up to the beginning of Sept.
