Found out I have discount for Pop preferred pool room

so I called to see about making a reservation at All star Movies today. Was planning to book 5 nights in July. The agent on phone then proceeded to say there was a code attached to my name that would enable me to book a "preferred pool room" at Pop for a total savings of just 40 bucks from the total at Movies for regular room.
So what to do?? I don't know a thing about Pop. I'm somewhat familiar w Movies and just picked because Disney-ish I guess. The 40$ total savings isn't that big of a whoop but it is comparing regular Movie room and Pop preferred pool.
What would y'all do?
It's 4 of us in 2 rooms (they said I can share the code). We're all teens/adults.

There's a lot of advantages to taking the room at pop, but some cons as well. The biggest con is that they are currently undergoing renovations at pop. This might not be an issue at all depending on where you're at since they are working on one building at a time (you could request to be far away from construction), but you never know. On the other hand, preferred rooms are typically closer to food courts, pools, transportation - all big conveniences, especially if you are relying on Disney transportation or need to run up to the store for something quick. We are the type that likes to get our mugs filled every morning and grab something from the food court for breakfast, like a muffin, and at some resorts, that quick walk from a preferred room can turn into a half hour walk (no kidding. We were at CB last trip and had the farthest building from the food court, took about 15 minutes to walk there, so needless to say we did not stop to fill our mugs every morning). Another benefit of pop over all stars, if you are relying on Disney transportation, is that pop has their own buses. While there are times each all star has its own buses, I know in the past they have also shared.

I have stayed in/and am booked again in a preferred pool room at Pop in June. It is not my choice of room locations when I stay at Pop, but to qualify for the summer meal deal it is the room type I had to book. It is close to the food court, bar, main pool, buses; all of which is very nice. The one con is that it tends to be a noisier location. This trip I am requesting top floor to help a bit. It was nothing that kept us awake at night, just a higher traffic location because of the pool and the movies are there, too.

I just faced a slightly similar scenario...booked a room at Pop for 2 nights and found out my UOC allowed me to book a preferred room at ASMo for close to the same price (a few dollars difference for both nights).

I've never stayed at a value before and am adding a few to a 6 night trip at a deluxe (I saved a ton of money flying in earlier). I went with ASMo for two reasons: 1) I simply like the theme better. It really won't matter which section I stay in, as the rooms at all values are very basic. I love the outdoor theming at ASMo, and I find Pop's theming 'meh' (but more appealing than ASSp for example). I was willing to stay at ASMo in a standard room, but none were available, and the preferred rooms popped up one day after not being available before (I kept checking back). 2) Even though ASMo might share buses with other AS resorts, it's a smaller resort and is reported to be quieter than Pop during the time of year I'm going. That's important to me.

It wasn't an easy decision. I love the fact that I could walk to AoA from Pop and see the grounds there, and I was torn about moving my reservation. But from my research, both resorts have standard room s that are *not* that far away from amenities such as food court and bus stops. Lots of Pop standard rooms have lovely lake views and are just around the corner from preferred rooms. At the AS resorts, some rooms/buildings are really close to sister resort main halls and food courts...you simply have to study sites such as touring plans and know what to request ahead of time.

But in the end, I went with ASMo for the reasons above. I just really, really like the looks of the resort!
