We just came home today from the BW. While making the once over to ensure we had everything I found an item in room 1105. We turned it in at the front desk and it was taken to lost and found. If you left anything in room 1105 please contact lost and found at the BW.

Glad to hear some people still return found items. We just came back and my sister and I were on the new "Aladdin" ride at MK and she left her bag of souvenirs on the ride. It was literalyy two minutes and the bag was gone - never turned in! It was like a $100 of stuff she bought at the Pirates shop - a dress, necklace, a Donald plush, etc. It ruined her day - how could someone do that - at least she had the receipt so no one could return it!

Truly rotten!

We were shocked to have our AKL refillable mug stolen at the AK a few weeks ago. It was stolen right out of the back of our stroller. We had owned it 3 hours. The manager at the resort was very kind to replace it. I couldn't believe it. I have found many things over the years (last year I found a fanny pack filled with packs of batteries) and always turn things in. Can't believe anybody would do otherwise.

I have been to disney many times and am always amazed that people just leave their belongings laying around. For example at the parks I see strollers with bags of merchandise left outside rides and water bottles and squirt bottles hanging from them. I am in no way interested in taking others things however, to someone who is tempted to steal this is a real opportunity. I guess living in New York all my life has warped my sense of trust in others however, if I left something on a ride or attached to my stroller and it was taken I would have expected it. Take care and lets all be a little more careful even in Disney there are not so nice people.... Tammy:(

I too am a NY'er and I do many things in WDW that I wouldn't do here. But it is Disney and my expectations overcome me. Haven't had a mishap yet, and hopefully I won't. That would spoil the magic a little. Here's to honesty!

For the most I think most people are overly honest at WDW. While I wouldn't think twice about finding an owner I am skeptically about what others would do...But our March trip we were pleasently surprised that someone found our FRS radio and tracked us down to give it back. The radio had my sons name on it they called us on the radio said they would leave it at Sci-Fi Diner hostess. They didn't even stick around for a personal thank you....We did express our appreciation over the airwaves.:)

We found 2 hundred dollar bills in our room safe. The front desk sent someone right up when we called.

I lost my medical card, DVC member card and Disney Club card. I thought I had lost them in the park but it turned out to be the couch. I thought I had checked everything. But 3 months later, I received an envelope from BW with my cards stating that someone had found them in the couch.

So good things to happen! Unfortunately my daughter lost her favorite hat with pins on it during the same trip. Even though we filed a report, never heard anything back.

We never lost anything big, but my DS left his Mickey baseball cap on one of the Friendships...from MGM to BC. After we got off and it departed, we realized it, and told someone at Guest Relations at the BC, who tried to contact the boat. We even had the friendship number. But, we didn't get the hat back. It was very disappointing...I just really expected more at Disney. We always try to find the owner, or turn something in to L & F, Disney or not.

I left my camera inside a pouch in the Exercise Room at OKW. I realized this about 5 minutes after I left. As I walked in, 2 teenagers were hovering around the bag trying to decide whether to take a peek or not. I ran in, got my camera, and left quickly. Shoof!

I lost a gold hoop earring at DxL back in March and recieved it in the mail about a week after we returned! Thanks to whomever turned it in!!

We just returned from OKW today and we were at Disney Quest Friday evening. My DH found a camera bag (very heavy) next to one of the kiosks that you draw Disney characters. We turned it in and hopefully made someone very happy. It was a great example to set for my children!!

I tend to get a little "lax" about leaving things in strollers at the parks but never items I have purchased at the stores (that's the Boston in me!!) I remember that alothough Disney is magical, not all people are!!

I hope that person gets their item back. Thanks for being honest.

It is amazing to see how many valuables people leave hanging off strollers too. I remember parking our stroller next to a woman who was just leaving hers...nice Sony camcorder hanging off the handle. I actually stopped her and told her she forgot her camera! Her reply, "Oh, I know it's there, do you think someone would take it?" Duh!
But hey, I've even caught myself leaving my camera sitting on the dinner table at the Crystal Palace while everyone is up getting food. I'd NEVER do anything like that anywhere else. Amazing how trusting you become in the World.

I found a decent 35mm camera once...sitting on one of the trash cans. I turned it in at Town Hall and was happy to hear that the owners had gratefully picked it up later on.

My wife and I used to camp a lot in State parks. It used to bother her when I'd leave lanterns, stoves, ice chests, etc out when we'd leave the site for day trips away from the park. I told her- half joking/half serious- that "Campers would never steal from campers" and nothing was ever taken. I guess the safest place to misplace something would be in Fort Wilderness:-) Seriously, too many of us think WDW is just such a wonderfull place that the realities of the real world don't exist. WRONG !! Even bottom feeders enjoy going to Disney.

You know, Joan, I just remembered. I left two hundred dollar bills in the room safe the last time I was there. Could you send them to me?

Thanks!!

LOL:jester:

Interesting. My little 2-year-old son lost his Tigger hat on our last trip, we filled out a L&F request on Main Street but it was never turned in. Is there a secret WDW hat thief ring? :D

Also, we were staying at the All-Stars and I was buying some squished pennies for my kids and inadvertantly left my refillable mug atop one of the machines. We walked outside to catch the bus, I realized my mistake, and ran in to get it. I saw a couple with a stroller just walking away from the machine with a refillable mug in their hands on their way out. I ran up to them and said, "Did you just find that on top of the machine?" They were so taken aback that they said yes, and I told them it was mine. They gave it to me.

I know someone who knows someone (so its ok to be skeptical here...but i do have reliable sources) who supposedly found an envelope under their bed at the Poly with $2000 in it.

He reported to the front desk that he had found an envelope with some money in it and that if someone could tell him how much money was in the envelope he would gladly turn it in.

During their stay, nobody claimed the money. So when he checked out he left his home phone number and told the desk manager to call if anyone reported they lost money in an envelope and could say how much was there.

He waited a whole year and called every couple of months to see if anyone reported a lost envelope full of money. No one did. He kept it. Figured it was probably drug money or had some other illicit use...since you would think that anybody else would have called to enquire about the lost cash...esp that much.

You know, Mike, I also stayed at the Poly and lost exactly $2k myself! (seems like I'm always losing cash at the resorts) Yep, $2k in cash, in an envelope. Last time I saw it, it was laying on the bed. Sniff...it wasn't drug money it was...err....for my grandma's operation! Yeah that's it. Granny's operation.

When I called down to the Poly, they had lost your friend's phone number. Can you have him/her send the money to me? Thanks in advance! Oh, and tell your friend to keep 20 bucks as a reward! Granny and I really appreciate this!

About 7 years ago we took my M.I.L on her first trip ever to WDW. In her 70's, she had arthritis in her legs and couldn't walk very well, so we rented her a wheelchair for the day. Yep, you guessed it, someone 'stole' the chair when we were on Pirates at MK.

We had the receipt, and Disney gladly gave us another chair to use for the day. They said that happens a lot. People don't want to pay the rental fee and just take a chair, or sometimes don't want to stand in lines and will use a chair to get in the handicap entrance. (I always suspected some people did that!)

Just goes to show that there are low-life even at WDW.
