Hi - just a heads up...We have a Peg Perego Plikomatic (Umbrella) Stroller. I have looked all over for a carrier/cover/bag to protect it when we gate check it for the plane ride and had no luck. But FINALLY I've found the Maclaren Single Stroller Carrier and the Peg Perego fits in it. It's a tight fit but it will prevent any possible damage to the stroller - we've had a few come back in bad shape and the Peg Perego is new. If you go into "Google" and type in Maclaren Single Stroller Carrier - you'll get several websites that sell it for around $25.00 or so. Thought I'd share the info! ;)

Just be careful that you mark the bag clearly as containing a stroller.

If the bag handlers can't see wheels, they may think it was just a bag that was too big to go into the cabin, and send it to the carousels when they take it off the plane. I had this happen once or twice, until I stenciled "baby buggy" on my cover in large letters.

I just bought this same stroller bag for our Maclaren to take on the trip. I thought of gate checking it but didn't know if they would allow it in the bag like that. Now I'm wondering if I could use it as one of my baggage allowances as we can have 3 bags each but will have less then that. We don't need it at the airport so gate checking isn't a concern for us. Does anyone know if there would be an extra charge for a stroller bag as opposed to a regular suitcase?

As luggage is measured in total dimensions, it will probably be accepted just fine as checked baggage, but I would still gate-check it. Anything that goes into the main hold may end up buried under a mountain of heavy luggage, and you really don't want an aluminum stroller subjected to that.

i have the single bag for my macs as well. i've only used it once, on the way down to mco no problem, bag was at the gate when we got off the plane.

on the return flight it was not! they put in on the carousel!!! i was extremely annoyed as we had to lug our carryons, the carseat and a 26lb 9 month old down to baggage.

i will definately be stencilling my bag next time i use it. thanks for the tip!

btw: the mac bag is great quality! heavy duty.
