Just wondering if FOTL is needed mid September or if wait time are short enough?

September is usually slow so I doubt you would need Express access during that time. If you're staying onsite, you'll have it regardless but if not, I wouldn't purchase the Express passes until you arrive and determine if the lines are too long for you.
