Will we need them? I know this is typically low season for Universal and IOA but I am concerned that the crowds will be much larger than normal because of the new HP attractions. Also, do the experts here think that will significantly affect Universal crowds in Sept. too? (Or just IOA).

You don't really think any of us can give you anything more then a guess (speculation).:)

People going to Universal for a couple days are likely to visit both parks. I'll speculate weekends will be crowded. I suspect a lot of FL residents, some with APs, will be taking a trip to see HP.

I'm not sure how crowed the parks will be during the week, after schools go back in session. Park hours are reduced. There will probably still be lines for the Forbidden Journey.

From the Universal 101 Podcast they said to expect big crowds for the year due to HP. This was based on the crowds that showed up just for Spiderman when it opened.

No, I realize I am only getting pure speculation but since I have NO idea about the effect on UN/IOA when new attractions open I thought I would get best guess thoughts from you experts. Of course HP is so popular and so large that it is probably too different to truly know from past experiences with other new attractions. I'm just debating on whether we would do best to purchase a room for one night at a Universal hotel so we had the fotl pass for two days. We are staying in a timeshare close to Disney so we would basically leave one night at the timeshare unused. However, if crowds are expected to make a huge difference from past septs. I would be willing to do it so we could see a lot of the parks. (My kids are very different heights - one tall and one very petite and DH likes the really big coasters) and so we basically have to cover all sections of the park to accomodate the whole family. This has never been a problem in low season in the past but with HP.....???????

If you take WWoHP out of the picture, it's not a really busy time historically.
