Forums for non-Disney vacations

What forums for non-Disney vacations do you frequent, or recommend. I am planning a spring trip to Phoenix, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Bryce, Zion, and Las Vegas. And a later trip to Glacier National Park and the Canadian Rockies.

I have been reading posts on www.virtualtourist.com and www.fodors.com, as well as www.frommers.com. They have provided good info, but not nearly on the level the DIS boards provide. I guess I am spoiled by the DIS !

Any suggestions for good boards/sights that provide info on non-Disney vacations?

Thanks for posting those sites to try. I want to go to the Smokey Mountains this summer and maybe I can find out some things. I'm like a babe in the woods anywhere else except WDW, lol.

Not related to the places you are planning to visit but when we were planning our cruise for last summer (not a disney cruise) I frequented cruisecritic.com and it was awesome-similiar to the DIS in terms of the quantity of info regarding all types of cruising.

For hotels I also visit tripadvisor.com although I find that the majority of people who post there really don't like their hotels. I take it all with a grain of salt.

I am on Fodor's boards planning a trip to Italy and Paris next year and they have been fantastic with the amount of help they can provide. But I have only been on the Europe board and nowhere else. So, I can't attest to the other boards.

Tripadvisor.com is another great site. I used this one when I went on my honeymoon and got a lot of good ideas from it. But I will tell you...there can be some mean people on this site so just ignore them.

You can get lots of good info on fodors.com. The people aren't as sweet as DISer's however. Make sure you use the search feature for your initial questions. If you ask a question that is very frequently asked, they will let you know it!
