Forum Subscription w/o e-mail notice???

Is there any way to have a Forum Subscription without getting e-mail notication. I like the ability to see my subscribed forums on the control panel, but I would prefer not to have e-mails sent to me with each post. I have not been able to find a way to seperate these two functions. I assume that is just the way it works, but I wanted to ask to make sure I was just not missing something.

I think that all you need to do is go into your user cp and edit options and say no to Use 'Email Notification' by default?

I subscribe to several forums and I don't get any e-mail messages.
