It is clean! Fun! Relaxing! Make sure you watch the light parade off the beach, order a pizza and eat it on the porch at Trails End, go see the horses in the barn, bike around...!

Think ahead about what your priorities are as there are different campsites. You can make a request based on a description of what you prefer...

Near canals: fishing
Away from canals: toddlers!
Near bathrooms: little kids, midnight visits, laundry
Away from bathrooms: less foot traffic past site
Near bus stop: short walk and fun to people watch, noisier
Away from bus stop: more private
Near big or little pools, open or more trees, near shops, etc.

You will have a fantastic time!:goodvibes

Hello and :welcome: to the DIS! Are you staying in the cabins or in the campground area?

Welcome!

I've never stayed at Fort Wilderness but I know a lot about it and have heard great things. The main thing I've heard was that it is a completely unique and different experience then staying at a hotel. Be sure to go to Hoop Dee Doo...I'm 23 and I'll be the first to admit it is a fun experience for adults, kids, and even teens. The jokes are very corny but some are pretty darn funny because of how corny they are. The food is really great, and my favorite part (being 23) is that there is unlimited beer, wine and sangria! you can't beat that!

Fort Wilderness is definitely one of my favorite places in Disney World...I have a ton of many memories hanging out at our campsite, swimming at the pool, picking up supplies at the outpost, going to the petting zoo, and taking the ferry to the Magic Kingdom. Since we stayed in a tent, we could hear fireworks going off at the parks at night. I would definitely recommend Fort Wilderness...especially if you're on a tight budget. If you're willing to sleep in a tent, I think it's the cheapest way to stay in Walt Disney World!

We go to the Fort in April. Staying in a cabin. I look forward to hearing about your experience!
