My husband and two kids are staying at Fort Wilderness the third week in June. Which is the best Loop to camp in? We have perferd camping with a 24 foot camper. I want a site that is not in a pet loop and will be the most convenint for catching the bus to and from the parks.

Also, what does it cost to rent a golf cart?[/SIZE]

You'll probably get a better reply if you post this on the camping board. Good luck!

I'll be there at the same time! 06/23-07/01..........everyone has a different opinion of the best loop and each loop has a bus stop. I have requested the 1400 loop because it is convenient to the pool, campfire, bike barn and Meadows trading post and the walk to the Settlement area is pretty good too.

OOPS! I forgot about the golf cart, last time we were there in December they were $44 per day but I think they may have gone up to $47?

You might also want to check out the thread with photos of the campsites. This will give you a good idea of what some of them look like. ;)

 We stayed in site 1204 in 2004. All the sites in this loop looked pretty spacious.
Just stayed in site #604 in dec.2006. This whole loop was much smaller and all of the loops in this area seemed smaller. Not much of an FW historian, but maybe all of the original loops were smaller than the expansions.
:surfweb:
looking to go back in fall.
Have you booked yet?
Do they still ask you to list 3 requested loops?

We were just in loop 600 two weeks ago, and while it is smaller in the number of sites, the sites are larger than most and easier to back into. There were several "big rigs" there, as well as over in the 700/800 loops. Just my .02

We have stayed in the 500, 700 and 800 loops I had thought about requesting a loop right before our last trip Easter and then thought why close myself off to a new experience. I think the best loop is the last one you have stayed in. It is Fort Wilderness at Disney World. I don't think I will ever request a specific loop, all I want is a pet loop and preferred if I can get it(resort TV makes the Disney experience complete for us). The rest I will leave myself open to a new experience. So I think what I am saying is it's all good, any loop is a great loop at the Fort.

Why are there two replies here advising OP to check the camping board ?? Isn't THIS the camping board ?!?! :confused3 Or is there another board I don't know of yet ?? I've seen this before and wondered about it...

Well said! I could not agree with you more! The last time that I asked to be placed in a specific loop, I ended up with one of the crummiest sites on the loop. I much prefer taking what they give me at check in. I think the castmembers try to give you the best site available. There are great sites on every loop. There are also some sites that are not that great on every loop.

I have seen this before, too. I think that this must have originally been posted somewhere else, and then moved here. It would be good if there was some notation when this happens, because it would tell us that it is a newbie, and perhaps the person would get a little more help.
