We are staying at the Pop in October and thinking of visiting Fort Wilderness - what would be the best way of getting there? We will have a car, but I heard parking may be a hassel (not sure if this is true). Can we take a boat there instead? If so, where do we get it from?

Thanks in advance.princess:

If you will have a car, then that will be your quickest and easiest way to get there. Parking isn't an issue, you just have to park in the main lot and take a bus in (you can walk too, but most guests take a bus).

You can hop a boat from the MK, WL or Contemporary. Actually driving and parking isn't bad...just park in the lot and take the next bus (any color route will do) to the Settlement which is where Pioneer Hall, Trails End, the dock, boat rentals, beach, barn etc are...if you want to get off at the Meadows (Bike barn, cart rentals, campfire, store, etc) just tell the bus driver and he will announce the stop for you. Trail rides and the kennel are down by where you park.

I agree with pp...we've gone to the Sing a Long twice - the first time from POP with no car (used buses) - the second time we had a car - it was MUCH quicker and better with the car. I highly recommend doing that.
