Fort Wilderness, Hoop Dee Do, Horseback Riding

I just made reservations for Hoop Dee Doo and horseback riding on different days. I've never been to Fort Wilderness so I have questions about getting there and getting around.

Is it easier/quicker to take a boat from MK to Pioneer Hall for HDD than a bus?

Is it easier/quicker to take a bus from one of the parks to where the trail rides are?

Or should we just make use of our rental car?


HDD's clear in the back by the marina and the trail ride is right in the front of the campgrounds.

Try posting on the transportation or resorts board.

Rental car may be your best bet.

Here is the little info that I know...We stayed at WL, and there is a boat that travels from MK to WL to FW in the afternoons. It takes people from the MK to FW for the Hoop Dee Do. Depending on when your horseback riding is, it might not work. In the mornings, the order is different until some time in the afternoon (it may or may not work - I can't remember details).

The boat runs from MK to the campground all day. If you take the boat, a bus is right there to take you to the front of the campground. When we stayed there, it was the fastest way to get to the campground. Make sure you go through the stables, too. All the horses from Main Street stay there. Some of those horses are huge!

ever since 6 WDW trips ago my family has been staying at fortwilderness. The horse back riding is amazing, for little kids there are ponys and for adults and teens there are regular horses for hiking and sutch. The cabins are amazing, you can sit outside and grill, look at the wild life, and at the center there is a plaza for laundry. There also is a parking spot for your car in the front of your cabin. The transportation is easy, there are different colored buses that pick you up at anytime of the day to any park, just follow the signs and use the route map. hope you have an awesome time at FortWilderness!!!!!!
