...Bought the vinyl stickers that with printed graphics.
Here is what a printed white vinyl graphic looks like after 1 year in the sun, only part of the day. This is a wood sign that was on the front of my house. I bought it exactly one year ago. This is why I prefer to pay the extra money for the layered vinyl graphics. They last 5-7 years and they don't fade back to white. I am replacing the graphic (that is white) with layered vinyl soon. This way, I save my beloved sign for the front of the house. The bottom of the sign is hand painted by the manufacturer.
I am not trying to poo poo vinyl printed graphic stickers, but if you are someone that has to leave your camper outside and it faces the sun in any direction, you need to know this information in order to make an informed decision.
So ends my public service announcement of the day....![]()
I'm surprised that your decal faded so much after just one year. I'm thinking that it wasn't printed correctly and/or it wasn't laminated.
I do printed and cut vinyl graphics for my company (please don't ask me make something for you).
Before I started, nothing was laminated and after around 2 years on the vehicles(in the sun, car washes, etc.) they do start to fade.
Since I have laminated my prints with the proper material they don't fade at all and I expect them to last the life of the vehicle. the laminate addes wear and UV fade protection.
I'm thinking your decal wasn't printed correctly or is not the right material and most likely not laminated.
So if you find a source for a printed decal ask them if it is laminated and what vinyl they use. It should be a quality material from 3M, Oracal or even Avery. If they are using pigment ink (what all home ink jets use) there are vinyls that you can print on but they only have a 6 month life.

They will probably get nailed for "Copyright Infringement", all of the art work such as what Shan Man has on his sight can be used as long as it is not for profit. Disney will catch up with them.
Does anyone have a source still for musket mickey fort decals?
I just wish they still had the pickles at the trading post I remember as a kid. Use to love having a pickle and watching the night time water parade on the shore after a day at river country. yup I am old school.
Just wanted to thank you all for your tips on how to get vinyl decals made and, of course, to the ULTRA talented DISigners (Thanks, Shan-Man) I got my husband the Fort Wilderness Musket Mickey made into a decal for his car. He always stayed at FW as a kid and wore his Musket Mickey shirt proudly. As an adult, it was a tragedy for him when they changed to a walking stick. He is over the moon about riding around with MM on his car. Can't wait to show it off when we get there in November.
I hear you about the pickels, but it just isn't the same......
I am starting to sound like my parents; I.e. "when I was growing up walking uphills both ways in the snow, during a 100 degree + heat spell I remember eating the best Fort Wilderness pickels from the huge gallon+ jars. Then they slid downhill by individually wrapping them, then............."
Ah
